We join with you in lifting up your dad before the Lord in this important time, and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you have come in that precious name.
We understand the weight he is carrying, losing his job, facing an interview, struggling emotionally and financially, and feeling the pressure of age and the need to move forward. God sees his situation and cares deeply for him. We are reminded in Psalm 34:18, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And in Isa 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We also know the Lord is our provider. In Phil 4:19 we are assured, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Jesus teaches us in Matt 6:33, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. We can trust that as your dad seeks the Lord and walks in diligence, God will make a way. In Prov 3:5-6 we read, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
So we pray together for him now.
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear father to You. You know his needs, his age, his financial burden, and his emotional struggle. We ask that You would be with him in this interview, that You would grant him peace, clarity of mind, favor with those interviewing him, and that it would go well without complications. We ask that if it is Your will, You would open this door and provide him with a better job soon, a position where he can use the gifts You have given him, provide for his needs, and have dignity in his work. We pray for emotional healing and strength, that You would lift his discouragement and renew his hope. We pray for financial freedom for him, that You would provide not only for his daily needs but also wisdom to steward what You provide, and peace about the future even as he grows older. Help him to cast all his anxiety on You because You care for him, as in 1 Pet 5:7. Guide his steps and let him move forward in Your purpose. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you and your dad to continue to trust the Lord with this next chapter. Even when waiting is hard, God is working for good for those who love Him. Encourage him to prepare diligently for the interview, to rest in the Lord the night before, and to remember that his worth is not in a job title but in being a child of God. Pray that God would use this time to draw him closer, to provide community and counsel around him, and to show him that even in later years God is still his provider and refuge, as Psalm 37:25 says, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for God's provision, peace, and open doors for your dad.
