We have heard your cry and we are standing with you together before the throne of grace in Jesus name, lifting you up in this very real and painful struggle. We understand how wearying and vulnerable it can feel to endure difficult menstrual cycles month after month, and how the physical suffering can leave you feeling emotionally and spiritually exposed. The Lord knows your body intimately, for He formed you. Psalm 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and Psalm 103:3 reminds us that He heals all our diseases. We pray for His healing touch upon your body and for His mercy to ease this condition that brings you such distress.
We also hear your discernment about spiritual attack in seasons of physical weakness, and we affirm with you that our struggle is real. Ephesians 6:12 tells us our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 1 Peter 5:8 warns us that our adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. It is not surprising that the enemy would try to press in when you are in pain and less able to stand in your own strength. But we take comfort that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and that when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us, James 4:7. We put on the whole armor of God with you, Ephesians 6:11, and we rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you and against our sisters in Christ who share this suffering. We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper and that the Lord is your refuge and strength.
We also lift up your mother to the Lord with you. We know how painful it is when someone close to us, especially a mother, becomes a channel of disturbance when we are already suffering. We pray for her deliverance and peace, that God would calm any spiritual disturbance in her and fill her with His spirit of power, love, and self control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We pray that the Lord would give you wisdom to honor your mother as we are commanded in Exodus 20:12, while also guarding the peace that God gives, and that He would set boundaries of protection around you in your home. Philippians 4:6-7 promises that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, and we ask for that peace to guard you now, especially on the hard days when you are simply not in the mood to battle.
We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are not saved by our suffering or our prayers alone, but by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we pray with confidence and find healing, forgiveness, and victory over the enemy.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You see our sister in her pain and weariness. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her body, to bring regulation and relief to her cycles, to ease inflammation and pain, and to restore her strength. We ask You to rebuke the enemy and silence every attack against her mind, body, and spirit, and against all believing women who endure this same condition. Cover them with Your wings and let them find refuge in You, Psalm 91:4. We pray for her mother, Lord, that You would touch her, deliver her from spiritual disturbance, and fill her with Your peace and clarity. Give our sister grace, patience, and wisdom in that relationship, and provide her with rest and support when she is most vulnerable. Let Your grace be sufficient for her, for Your power is made perfect in weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9. Cast all her anxiety on You because You care for her, 1 Peter 5:7. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our healer and our victory, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek both spiritual and wise medical counsel for this condition, to rest without guilt when your body needs it, and to lean on the body of Christ for support. Keep putting on the armor of God daily through prayer and the Word, and remember that even when you feel weak, He is strong and He holds you fast. Nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, Romans 8:38-39. We are praying for you to feel His nearness and relief in the days ahead.
