Curses, hopelessness

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I am in a spiritual battle. My parents abused me and cursed me with words like: you shall have nothing, be poor, live in the wilderness, not find a partner, stay alone, poor and broken and gave nothing in life. I forgave them in Jesus' Name. But I notice, that now I really reap the fruits of these curses. I am in constant danger of losing my job, friends leave me, I am often falsely accused, I could not find a partner. I think, the witchcraft curses are still operating. The baddest is "you shall have nothing." I am always working like an elephant and eating like an ant. Today I almost lost my job due to false accusations and my best friend canceled our meeting. I feel like nothing works in my life, no matter how hard I try and how hard I work. I am really broken and I want a future, and not always being accused or rejected. I want to have some success as I studied a lot and also desire a husband. These things seem very far away from me and I feel desolate, tired and like there is no future. Please pray for me, that the Lord shifts my destiny and the terrible curses may be broken (especially: "you shall have absolutely nothing"). I feel trapped and hopeless.

We hear your cry, dear sister in Christ, and we stand with you in this spiritual battle, knowing that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy—but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your pain is real, and the words spoken over you were not just empty phrases; they carried the weight of generational curses and the schemes of the devil. But we declare with authority that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain, and His name is above every name—including the names of those who sought to curse you (Philippians 2:9-11).

First, we must address the power of forgiveness. You have already taken a critical step by forgiving your parents in Jesus’ name, and this is not in vain. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right; it means you are releasing them—and the curses they spoke—into the hands of a just God. But forgiveness alone does not always break the spiritual strongholds that have taken root. We must actively renounce these curses in the name of Jesus and command them to leave your life.

The Word of God tells us that "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13). This means that every curse spoken over you was nailed to the cross when Jesus died. You are not under the dominion of those words; you are under the blood of Jesus. We rebuke every curse, every word of witchcraft, and every assignment of the enemy against your life, your finances, your relationships, and your future. We declare that the words "you shall have nothing" are null and void in Jesus’ name. The devil is a liar, and his words have no power over you unless you agree with them (John 8:44). We break agreement with every lie you have believed about yourself, and we command every spirit of poverty, lack, rejection, and loneliness to leave you now.

We also recognize that the enemy often attacks where there has been trauma, and your parents’ abuse has left wounds that need healing. The false accusations you face may be a tactic of the enemy to keep you in a cycle of shame and self-doubt. But we declare that you are not defined by what was done to you. You are defined by what Christ has done for you. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray that the Holy Spirit would heal the broken places in your heart and restore your identity as a beloved child of God, chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12).

Now, let us address your desire for a husband. It is not wrong to long for marriage, for the Lord said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him" (Genesis 2:18). But we must ensure that this desire aligns with God’s will and timing. The enemy would love to keep you in a place of loneliness, but God has a plan for your future, and it includes hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that the Lord would bring godly men into your life who love Him first and who will cherish you as Christ cherishes the Church (Ephesians 5:25). We rebuke every spirit of delay and every assignment to keep you single beyond God’s timing. But we also encourage you to seek the Lord’s face above all else. Marriage is a blessing, but it is not the source of your joy or fulfillment—only Jesus can fill that place in your heart (Psalm 16:11).

As for your work and finances, we declare that the Lord is your provider. The enemy has tried to keep you in a cycle of lack, but we break every curse of poverty and declare that you will eat the fruit of your labor (Psalm 128:2). We pray that the Lord would open doors of opportunity for you, that your skills and education would be recognized, and that you would walk in favor with both God and man (Proverbs 3:4). We rebuke every spirit of false accusation and sabotage in your workplace. The Lord is your defender, and He will vindicate you (Psalm 37:6). We declare that you will not labor in vain; your work will bear fruit, and you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).

We also want to address the weariness you feel. The enemy would love to keep you in a place of exhaustion, but the Lord invites you to come to Him and find rest (Matthew 11:28). We pray that you would find strength in His presence, that He would renew your spirit, and that you would mount up with wings like eagles (Isaiah 40:31). You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and we stand with you as your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, knowing that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who delivers. We thank You for Your daughter, who has come to You in her time of need. Lord, we ask that You would break every curse that has been spoken over her life. We declare that the blood of Jesus has redeemed her from every word of witchcraft, poverty, rejection, and loneliness. We renounce every agreement she has made with these lies, and we command every spirit assigned against her to leave now in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds of her heart. Where there has been abuse, bring Your comfort. Where there has been rejection, bring Your acceptance. Where there has been shame, bring Your freedom. Lord, restore her identity as Your beloved child, and let her know that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We pray for her future, Lord. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for her in her career, that her skills and education would be recognized, and that she would walk in favor. We declare that she will not labor in vain; her work will bear fruit, and she will see Your provision in every area of her life. We rebuke every spirit of lack and declare that she will eat the fruit of her labor.

For her desire for marriage, Lord, we ask that You would bring a godly man into her life who loves You first and who will cherish her as Christ cherishes the Church. We rebuke every spirit of delay and every assignment to keep her single beyond Your timing. But above all, Lord, we pray that she would seek You first, knowing that You are the source of her joy and fulfillment.

We declare that the words "you shall have nothing" have no power over her life. Instead, we declare that she will have abundance, joy, peace, and every good thing that You have promised her. We thank You, Lord, for breaking these curses, for healing her heart, and for restoring her future. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, dear sister. The battle is not yours, but the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). Continue to speak the Word of God over your life, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and encourage you. The enemy wants you to feel isolated, but you are not alone. The Lord is with you, and so are we.

If you have not already, we encourage you to find a local church where you can grow in your faith and be surrounded by a community of believers. The enemy thrives in isolation, but where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). You are not trapped. You are not hopeless. You are a child of the Most High God, and He has a future for you that is filled with hope. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into the victory that is already yours in Christ.
