Curse of late marriage

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, my parents cursed me in anger that I should not marry, that no one will ever like me or find me attractive. This hurts me, as I am getting older and cannot find a partner, and I think there are various factors, one thing is that I am not completely healthy, and have low self-esteem, but the curses may be in operation, too. I desire a family and children and do not want to stay alone. These curses must break, and I think, the Lord has a partner for me. I forgive my parents. I desire healing for my heart and want to be a good friend and colleague and also find a husband.

We hear the deep pain in your heart, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God’s love and power can break every chain—including the words spoken in anger that have weighed so heavily on you. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to believe the lies that you are unwanted, unlovable, or destined to be alone, but Scripture declares something far greater over your life. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Your Heavenly Father sees your longing for marriage and family, and He is able to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think" (Ephesians 3:20).

First, we must address the power of words—both those spoken over you and those you speak over yourself. The Bible warns that "death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Proverbs 18:21). While your parents’ words were spoken in anger, they do not have the final authority over your life. Jesus came to set you free from every curse, and in His name, we break the power of those words right now. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13). We declare that every word contrary to God’s promise of love, companionship, and blessing over your life is nullified by the blood of Jesus. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your worth is not defined by human opinion but by the One who created you.

Your desire for marriage is not selfish—it is a godly longing. However, we must also address the areas where the enemy may be gaining a foothold. Low self-esteem can open doors to lies that keep you from stepping into the fullness of what God has for you. We encourage you to immerse yourself in the truth of God’s Word. Meditate on verses like "The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). Your value is not determined by your health, your appearance, or even your current relationship status. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He delights in you (Zephaniah 3:17).

We also want to gently address the importance of guarding your heart and mind. If you have ever entertained thoughts of hopelessness or resignation, we urge you to reject them in Jesus’ name. The enemy would love for you to believe that your season of waiting is permanent, but God is a God of restoration. We pray that He would heal the wounds in your heart—both from your parents’ words and from any past disappointments. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where bitterness or unforgiveness may still linger, even if you have forgiven your parents. Unforgiveness can hinder your prayers and your peace (Mark 11:25), so we encourage you to release it fully into God’s hands.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name that is above every other name. Lord, we lift up this precious sister to You, knowing that You see her heart and her deepest longings. We thank You that You are a God who breaks chains and sets captives free. Right now, we break the power of every curse spoken over her life—every word that has made her feel unwanted, unloved, or unworthy. We declare that those words have no authority over her because she belongs to You, and You have plans for her life that are good and filled with hope.

Father, we ask that You would heal her heart from the pain of her parents’ words and any other wounds that have caused her to doubt her worth. Pour out Your love upon her in a tangible way so that she may know, without a shadow of a doubt, that she is deeply loved by You. Restore her self-esteem and help her to see herself through Your eyes—as a woman of value, purpose, and beauty. Lord, we ask that You would remove every lie of the enemy that has taken root in her mind. Replace those lies with Your truth, that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, chosen, and dearly loved.

We pray for her health, Lord. Strengthen her body and give her the grace to walk in the wholeness You have for her. We also pray for her relationships—both friendships and the godly community around her. Surround her with people who will speak life into her, encourage her, and reflect Your love. Father, we ask that You would prepare her heart for the spouse You have for her. Give her wisdom and discernment as she navigates this season, and help her to trust in Your timing. We declare that she will not be alone, that You have a husband for her who will cherish her, love her as Christ loves the Church, and build a godly marriage with her.

Lord, we ask that You would open doors for her to meet this man in Your perfect timing. Remove any obstacles or delays that are not of You, and align her path with his. Give her patience and peace as she waits, knowing that Your timing is always perfect. We pray that You would cultivate in her a heart of joy, contentment, and trust in You, even as she waits for this promise to manifest.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this season of waiting to draw her closer to You. May she find her identity, security, and satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You are enough for her. We thank You for the family and children You have for her, and we declare that her story is not one of loneliness but one of fulfillment and blessing. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in faith, sister. Continue to declare God’s promises over your life, even when circumstances seem contrary. Surround yourself with believers who will speak life into you and hold you accountable to walk in God’s truth. Consider seeking godly counsel or mentorship from a mature Christian woman who can walk alongside you in this season. Most importantly, draw near to God in prayer, worship, and His Word. The more you know Him, the more you will trust His heart for you.

Remember, the enemy wants you to focus on what you *don’t* have, but God wants you to focus on what He *is* doing in your life. Even in this season of waiting, He is shaping you, refining you, and preparing you for the blessings ahead. Do not despise the day of small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10). Every step of obedience, every act of faith, and every moment of trusting God is building a foundation for the future He has for you.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of salvation in Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him. Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and it is through His name alone that we have access to God’s power, healing, and blessings. If you have not confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so today. Simply pray, "Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for my sins and rose again. I repent of my sins and ask You to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life. In Your name, I pray. Amen." If you have prayed this prayer, we rejoice with you and encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith.

You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. God is with you, and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will fulfill the desires of your heart as you delight yourself in Him (Psalm 37:4).

Sister, we hear your heart's cry and we're here with you, believing in the power of God's love to break every chain and fulfill your deepest desires. We stand on God's promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We declare healing and wholeness over you, in Jesus' name.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face, sister. His love for you is unchanging and unconditional. As you wait, trust that He is working behind the scenes, preparing your heart and aligning your path with His perfect will. Remember, "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

Keep your heart and mind focused on Jesus. Surround yourself with uplifting music, scriptures, and godly friends who can speak life into you. And remember, your worth is not defined by your circumstances, but by the One who created you and loves you deeply.

We're praying for you, sister. We believe that God has a husband for you, a man who will cherish and love you as Christ loves the Church. Trust in His timing, and keep your heart open to His leading. You are not alone, and you are deeply loved. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
