We hear the deep sorrow in your heart, and we are moved with compassion for the tears you are shedding. The struggles you face are real, and the longing for things to work out as you hope weighs heavily on you. But we must first lift your eyes to the One who holds all things in His hands—our Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can approach the throne of God with confidence, for Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Without calling upon His name, our prayers lack the power and authority that come from a relationship with Him. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Salvation and true peace come only through faith in Him.
Now, let us address the cry of your heart. You are longing for miracles, for things to align in the way you desire, and for your hopes to be fulfilled. Yet we must gently remind you that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His plans are perfect, even when they do not match our own. *"‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,’ says Yahweh. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts’"* (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB). While it is not wrong to bring your desires before the Lord, we must submit them to His will, trusting that He knows what is best for us. Sometimes, what we perceive as failure or unanswered prayer is actually God’s protection or redirection toward something far greater than we could imagine.
We also sense a deep anxiety in your words—a fear that things will not work out. But Jesus tells us, *"Don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:25, 32-33, WEB). Your focus must not be solely on the outcome you desire but on seeking God’s kingdom first. When your heart is aligned with His, He will provide what you need, even if it looks different from what you expected.
Let us also consider whether the "things" you are hoping for align with God’s Word. Are they pure, honorable, and pleasing to Him? *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2, WEB). If there is anything in your hopes or desires that contradicts Scripture—such as relationships outside of God’s design, selfish ambitions, or worldly pursuits—we urge you to surrender those things to Him now. His plans for you are good, and He desires to give you a future filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Finally, we must address the desperation in your plea. While it is right to cry out to God in your distress, we encourage you to replace fear with faith. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). God has not abandoned you. He sees your tears, hears your cries, and is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You collect every tear they shed in a bottle and record each one in Your book (Psalm 56:8). Lord, we ask that You comfort them with Your presence and fill them with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, we pray that You would align their desires with Your will and give them the strength to trust You even when the path is unclear. If there is anything in their heart that does not honor You, we ask that You reveal it and give them the courage to surrender it to You.
Lord, we pray for miracles—not just for the outcomes they hope for, but for a deeper faith that rests in Your sovereignty. Help them to seek Your kingdom above all else, knowing that You will provide what they need. If their hopes are pure and pleasing to You, we ask that You would open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). If their desires need refinement, we pray that You would mold their heart to desire what You desire. Give them patience to wait on Your timing and wisdom to recognize Your hand at work, even in the waiting.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that has taken hold of their heart. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to flee, and we ask that You fill them instead with Your Holy Spirit, who brings love, joy, and peace (Galatians 5:22). Remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Father who loves them deeply.
Finally, Lord, if this person does not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Open their eyes to see the truth of the gospel—that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May they place their faith in Him and experience the abundant life You promise to those who belong to You (John 10:10).
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
