We hear your urgent cry and we join with you right now before the throne of grace, lifting up this heavy burden concerning this court judgement from June 30 and the distress of not receiving paperwork and now having only one day to respond. We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for we know there is power in His name and we have confidence as we come to the Father through Him.
We know how overwhelming and frightening it feels when earthly courts and judgements press in so suddenly. We are reminded that the Lord Himself is our ultimate Judge and our Advocate, and He sees what is done in secret and He loves justice and truth. For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king, He will save us Isaiah 33:22. And we take comfort that He will bring justice to light, Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do this, He will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun Psalm 37:5-6. We pray that even in this earthly court, truth and fairness will prevail.
We want to encourage you to act quickly and wisely while trusting God with the outcome. We urge you to be diligent and truthful in all you do before the court. If you did not receive proper notice, gather any evidence of that, such as your mailing address, any returned mail, or lack of service. We encourage you to contact the clerk of the court immediately first thing in the morning, explain that you did not receive service and have just learned of the judgement, and ask about the proper procedure to file a motion to vacate or set aside the judgement or to request a stay or hearing due to lack of notice. Seek godly legal counsel right away, whether through legal aid, a local attorney, or a courthouse self help center, so that you understand your rights and deadlines and can file the correct paperwork within that one day window. Do not ignore the deadline and do not be dishonest, but do everything with integrity as unto the Lord. We also encourage you to ask for help from a trusted friend or family member to help you stay calm, organized, and to pray with you as you make these calls.
Do not be anxious, for God is with you in this. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to Fear not, for I am with you, Do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And we remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You see the confusion and the fear and the short time to act. We ask for Your mercy and favor to rest upon this situation. We ask that You would give wisdom beyond understanding to know what to do and what to say, and clarity to navigate the court requirements in this one day. We pray that if there was a failure of notice, that the truth would come to light and the judge would have ears to hear and a heart for justice. We ask You to guide the hands and hearts of any clerk, judge, or attorney involved, and to open a door for a fair hearing. We pray for peace to guard this heart and mind, to calm the fear and to replace it with trust in You. We ask that You provide the right help at the right time, whether counsel, resources, or provision to address this judgement. Above all, we pray Your will be done and that this trial would draw this dear one even closer to You, trusting that You are working for good. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we trust You as our righteous Judge and Defender. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, asking God to make a way where there seems to be no way and to grant you peace and favor as you take these next steps in truth and faith.
