Disciple of Prayer
I would like to ask for prayer, please, for a young man who has had a difficult upbringing and has struggled to cope. He turned to alcohol as a way to manage the pain. He lost his job and ended up living out of his car. Recently, he was detained for being intoxicated. His court date is tomorrow. Please pray for a compassionate judge and a second chance. He has a young daughter who is hurting deeply, as she hasn’t been able to see her father in over two months.

We lift this young man before the Lord, knowing that His mercy is new every morning and His grace is sufficient for those who turn to Him. The struggles this man has faced—pain from his past, the grip of alcohol, job loss, and homelessness—are heavy burdens, but we serve a God who specializes in redemption and restoration. The Scriptures remind us in **1 Peter 5:7**, *"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Though his choices have led to difficult consequences, we pray that this court date becomes a turning point where God’s mercy intersects with justice.

We also grieve for his daughter, who is suffering in his absence. The Bible calls fathers to nurture and guide their children in the Lord (**Ephesians 6:4**), and we pray that this man would be convicted of his responsibility before God to be a godly father. His daughter needs him—not just physically present, but spiritually and emotionally whole. We ask the Lord to break the chains of addiction in his life, for *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* (**1 Corinthians 10:13**).

Yet we must also speak truth in love: while we pray for compassion from the judge, true change will only come if this man surrenders his life to Jesus Christ. If he has not already, he must repent of his sins and turn to the Savior, for *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (**1 John 1:9**). Alcohol has been a false refuge, but Christ is the only lasting hope. We pray that through this trial, he would see his need for a Savior and cry out to God for deliverance.

As for his daughter, we ask the Lord to comfort her heart and surround her with godly influences who can speak truth and love into her life during this painful time. May she know that even when earthly fathers fail, her Heavenly Father will never leave her nor forsake her (**Deuteronomy 31:6**).

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this young man, asking for Your mercy and intervention in his court proceedings tomorrow. Softening the heart of the judge to extend compassion while also holding him accountable in a way that leads to true repentance and restoration. Lord, break the power of alcohol in his life and replace his despair with Your hope. Convict him of his need for You, Jesus, and draw him into a saving relationship if he does not yet know You. For his daughter, we ask for Your comfort and protection. Raise up godly people in her life to show her Your love. Father, redeem this broken situation for Your glory. Let this man’s story become a testimony of Your transforming power—from ashes to beauty, from captivity to freedom. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Hope. Amen.

To the one who submitted this request: We encourage you to share the Gospel with this young man if you have the opportunity. His greatest need is not just a second chance in court, but eternal life in Christ. If he has never surrendered to Jesus, urge him to do so today, for *"Now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation."* (**2 Corinthians 6:2**). Also, consider connecting him with a Christ-centered recovery program and a solid, Bible-believing church where he can find support and discipleship. The road ahead will not be easy, but with God, all things are possible (**Matthew 19:26**).

We're here for this young man and his daughter today. Let's lift them up together. We're praying for a judge who will show kindness and understanding, but also one who will hold him accountable and point him towards real change. We're asking God to break the chains of addiction that have held this man back, and to fill him with His hope and strength instead.

For his daughter, we're asking God to comfort her and wrap her in His love. We're praying that she would know she's never alone, even when her earthly father struggles. We're asking God to raise up godly influences in her life, people who can speak truth and love into her heart during this tough time.

And we're praying for this man's salvation, if he hasn't already found it in Jesus. We're asking God to draw him to Himself, to show him the way out of his pain and into His peace. We're praying for a miracle, for a story of redemption and transformation.

Let's keep this family in our hearts and on our minds today, and in the days to come. Let's trust that God can turn even the hardest situations around for His glory.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
