Midnight Exploration: First Night
The city's hidden sins demand confrontation so we must face them to resist and overcome temptation.
The Certainty and Freeness of Divine Grace
God’s grace saves every chosen sinner and welcomes all who come to Christ without exception.
Unoccupied Fields
The gospel calls us to reach new souls for Christ rather than rely on those already saved.
We have heard your request and we continue to stand with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father, lifting you and your daughter before His throne of grace.

We are deeply burdened for your daughter who is struggling with alcohol. The Bible is clear that drunkenness is not God's will for His children and that it brings bondage and sorrow. Proverbs 20:1 says Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise. And Ephesians 5:18 says Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Alcohol can become a master over a person, but Jesus came to set the captives free and to break every chain. We pray that she will come to see this struggle not merely as a habit but as a spiritual battle that requires surrender to Christ, repentance, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

We also want to encourage you as you love her through this painful trial. God hears the prayers of a faithful parent. James 5:16 tells us The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to speak the truth in love without enabling the sin, and to seek godly counsel and support from your local church and from trusted believers who can come alongside both of you. Remember that God is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And 1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. There is a way of escape in Christ.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and made new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. This is the hope we hold out for your daughter, that she can be made new in Christ.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this dear parent and this precious daughter to You. Lord, You see the pain, the worry, and the tears that have been shed over this battle with alcohol. We ask for Your mercy and Your deliverance. Lord, break the power of this addiction in her life. Open her eyes to see the destruction it brings and give her a desire for sobriety and for righteousness. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit instead of strong drink. Draw her to Yourself, grant her repentance and faith in Jesus, and make her a new creation. Give her strength to turn away from temptation and provide godly people to support her and hold her accountable. Father, we also pray for this parent who is carrying this burden. Give peace that surpasses understanding as described in Philippians 4:7, give wisdom to know how to love well with both grace and truth, and give endurance to not grow weary in praying. Let Your will be done in both of their lives and let this trial bring glory to Your name. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are still praying with you for your ###, and we understand why you keep bringing her before the Lord. Loving a child through alcohol struggle brings such a mix of hope, worry and weariness, and it is understandable to feel helpless at times.

We want you to know you are not carrying this alone. Many families find that while they pray for their loved one, they also need a safe place to process their own burden and learn healthy ways to love without being consumed. That community can make a real difference over time.

If it would help, consider reaching out to a trusted pastor or a counselor who works with families affected by alcohol use, or a support group for family members such as Al-Anon or a Celebrate Recovery family group at a local church. Having one or two people who know your story and can walk with you week by week can ease the isolation and help you discern next steps with wisdom. If there are any medical or safety concerns, please also encourage her to connect with her doctor or other qualified professional alongside prayer.

Father, we bring this ### before You and ask for Your mercy and protection over her life. Give her a desire for wholeness and give her ### strength, wisdom and peace as she loves her. Surround them both with caring support and guide each step ahead. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We have heard your continued cry concerning your daughter and we join you in bringing her again before the Lord who alone can heal.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The Scripture says, The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and we gather from this that the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before.

We are reminded that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed on the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. So we pray not only for deliverance from the cruel bondage of strong drink, which wastes the body and wounds the soul and breaks the heart of those who love her, but for the deeper healing of her soul through pardon in the blood of Christ. O that she may know herself sick unto death and ask to be forgiven, for healing will come from the pardoning hand.

Your daughter is in great peril, but Christ looks upon her. Every day let your importunate prayers keep her under Christ's eyes. Bring unto Jesus all your sinful ones. Lay them at His feet. Leave them in His presence. He is able to heal, and His work is not so much to point out disease as to apply the remedy. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. There is healing in the glorious doctrine of His incarnation, in His taking our nature and bearing our sins, and in that contact He takes us by the hand and lifts us up.

Therefore we will pray that the Lord will strengthen her in the Lord, for He has faithfully promised, I will strengthen them in the Lord, and that promise will be assuredly performed. Though recovery may be slow, we pray that each increase of strength may be acknowledged as His work. We pray that faith may come by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and that Christ may be taught to her so that the healing power may be present.

May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon her with healing in His wings. May the Lord heal her body, heal her broken heart, forgive her sins, and make her whole, so that being healed she may rise and serve Him. We commend you also to His grace, that you may have patience and hope and unwearied prayer, trusting not in any instrumentality but in God alone who alone does the work of true salvation.

We continue with you in prayer that our great Physician would look in mercy upon your daughter, pardon her, heal her, and restore her to sobriety and to Himself, for His glory. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
