We lift your sister before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, for her constant negativity is not only weighing upon her own spirit but also affecting those around her. The Word of God warns us, *"A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones"* (Proverbs 17:22). Her words and thoughts are not aligned with the hope and renewal we have in Christ, and this pattern must be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit.
First, we must address the root of this negativity. Scripture tells us, *"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he"* (Proverbs 23:7). Her mind is consumed with fear, bitterness, and ungodly influences—watching videos that glorify sin and despair, dwelling on past grievances, and speaking curses over her own life. This is not the life God intends for His children. *"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2). Her fixation on the past—particularly the school that caused her pain—has become an idol, a stronghold that must be torn down in Jesus' name.
We rebuke the spirit of bitterness, fear, and unbelief that has taken hold of her thoughts. *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he is using her negativity as a foothold. But we declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every lying spirit to flee in the name of Jesus Christ!
We also must address her praise of lawlessness. Scripture is clear: *"Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Praising those who break the law is rebellion against God’s order, and it grieves the Holy Spirit. We pray that her eyes would be opened to the truth and that she would repent of glorifying sin.
Your sister claims to have accepted God as her Savior, but her life does not reflect the transformation that comes with true salvation. *"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). If she has truly been born again, the Holy Spirit will convict her of these things and lead her into righteousness. If she has not, we pray that she would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in her life. Lord, we break the power of negativity, fear, and bitterness that has taken root in her mind. We declare that her thoughts would be captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and that she would no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world.
Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds from her past—particularly the pain from that school—and that she would release all bitterness and unforgiveness. Help her to see that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19) and that holding onto anger only harms her. We pray that she would fill her mind with whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Philippians 4:8), and that she would turn away from the ungodly influences she has been consuming.
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, depression, and unbelief that has been speaking lies over her life. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37) and that no weapon formed against her shall prosper. We pray that she would speak life and blessing over herself and others, as Your Word commands: *"Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit"* (Proverbs 18:21).
Father, if she has not truly surrendered her life to You, we ask that You would draw her to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. If she has, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin and lead her into holiness. May her life reflect the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
We also pray for wisdom and patience for her family as they support her. Give them the strength to speak truth in love and to set godly boundaries. May they be a light to her, showing her the love of Christ even in difficult moments.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus. We trust that You are working in this situation, even when we cannot see it. May Your will be done in her life, and may she come to know the abundant life You have promised (John 10:10).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you and your family to continue praying for her, speaking life over her, and gently guiding her back to God’s truth. *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up"* (Galatians 6:9). Surround her with godly influences—people who will speak truth, pray with her, and hold her accountable. If she is open, encourage her to seek biblical counseling to address these deep-seated issues.
Above all, remind her of God’s promises. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11). Her future is not defined by fear or the past, but by the hope we have in Christ. Stand firm in faith, and trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
