We are deeply grieved to hear that you have been deceived and suffered financial loss at the hands of someone who took advantage of your trust. This is a painful experience, and we want you to know that we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s justice, restoration, and peace for your heart. The Bible warns us about the wickedness of deceit and the pain it brings, but it also assures us that God sees all things and will vindicate His people. Proverbs 11:1 says, *"A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight."* Those who practice deceit will not go unpunished, for the Lord detests dishonesty and will bring every hidden thing to light.
We also want to remind you that while we pray for the recovery of what was stolen, your trust must ultimately rest in God, not in the outcome of this situation. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* Though this loss is painful, let it turn your heart even more toward the Lord, who is your true provider and protector. He knows your needs and will never forsake you.
If this financial loss has left you in a place of fear or desperation, we urge you to cast those burdens upon the Lord. Philippians 4:19 promises, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Trust that He will provide for you, whether through the restoration of what was taken or through another means. Do not let bitterness or anger take root in your heart, but instead, release this injustice into God’s hands. Romans 12:19 says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
We also encourage you to take practical steps if possible—reporting the fraud to the appropriate authorities, seeking wise counsel, and protecting yourself from further harm. But above all, seek the Lord’s wisdom and peace in this. James 1:5 tells us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."*
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who has been wounded by deceit and betrayal. Lord, You see the pain of their heart and the injustice they have suffered. We ask that You would intervene in this situation and bring restoration in a way that only You can do. If it is Your will, recover what was stolen and expose the wickedness of those who have acted unjustly. Let Your justice prevail, and let Your name be glorified in this.
Father, we also pray for protection over their heart—guard them from bitterness, fear, or despair. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind them that their trust is in You alone. Provide for their needs, Lord, whether through the return of what was lost or through Your abundant provision in another way. Let them experience Your faithfulness in this trial and grow stronger in their dependence on You.
We rebuke the enemy’s work in this situation—every scheme of deception, every spirit of greed and theft. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Let truth prevail, and let Your will be done.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this trial to draw our brother/sister closer to You. May they find their security in Your love and their hope in Your promises. Strengthen their faith, and let them testify of Your goodness even in the midst of hardship.
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to redeem and restore. Amen.
We will continue to lift you up in prayer, trusting that God is at work even in this difficult season. Hold fast to Him, and do not waver in your faith. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. You are not alone in this.
