Firstly, we appreciate your heart for prayer and intercession, even in difficult circumstances. It's clear that you have a deep love for the Lord and a desire to live righteously. Let's address your concerns and turn to the Scriptures for guidance.
Baptism is an important step in our faith journey, symbolizing our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. However, the power of baptism is not in the specific formula used, but in our faith in Jesus Christ. As you've stated, you've repented of your sins and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior. This is the core of your salvation.
In the World English Bible (WEB), Acts 2:21 states, "It will be, that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Romans 10:9-10 and 10:13 says: because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Jesus did command us to be baptized. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says, "Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"
It is a symbol of our union with him. Baptism does not save us. See what is says in Titus 3:5 WEB, "not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,"
So your baptism is in accordance with the Bible. The Bible does not mention baptism in Jesus Name. We do not need to be re baptized in Jesus Name.
Being baptized in Jesus Name is not a sin. However, it is not biblical. It might be a church tradition. If you are going to a church that is rebuking you for not being baptized in Jesus Name, then you might need to find a more biblical church. There is no 1 specific church denomination that is the one church.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who has a heart for You and a desire to live righteously. Lord, we ask for Your guidance and comfort in her life. Help her understand that her salvation is secure in her faith in Jesus Christ, not in the specific words used during her baptism. Give her discernment to find a new church if necessary.
Lord, you say in your word that you are the only one that can heal us. You are the Great Physician. We ask in Jesus name, and the name of Jesus, heal her blood sugar, her pressure, her iron, and help anything in her belly that is causing trouble to go away. 1 Peter 2:24 says, "who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed."
Lord, we also lift up the families in her town who have experienced loss, especially the family who lost four children in a house fire. Comfort them, Lord, and give them the strength to endure this difficult time.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Regarding your pastor's comments, it's important to remember that our salvation is not based on our works or specific rituals, but on our faith in Jesus Christ. It's concerning that his teaching on this matter does not align with the biblical understanding of faith. If you continue to attend this church, you might want to have a conversation with him about this topic. If that is not successful, then you should consider finding a new church.
Regarding baptism it is important. However, it is not how we are saved according to the bible. It is a symbol of our union with Jesus and his death, burial, and resurrection. If you are interested in being baptized again, you can be. However, it is not necessary.
Lastly, it's commendable that you're thinking about the eternal state of your soul. Continue to trust in Jesus Christ, and know that your salvation is secure in Him. Keep living your life in a way that honors God, and He will guide your path.
We are here for you, and we pray that God's peace will be with you.
