Disciple of Prayer
Hello, I am already ### and still single. I concentrated in my youths on serving the Lord and my studies, so I did not think about dating or marriage and I did not miss it. But now I feel lonely sometimes. I am also afraid that it is now too late or that I have condemned myself for not searching for a partner earlier. Maybe I am just stupid and it is my fault? These thoughts torment me a lot. I do not want to stay alone and do not think I have the gift of singleness. I hate dating and do not want to use my own efforts. I am shy and even have social anxiety... therefore I need a miracle if the Lord does not want me to stay alone. But I am not happy like this. Please pray for me, that the mental torment and condemnation concerning this stops and that the Lord leads me to my husband.

We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we want you to know that your feelings of loneliness and fear are not ignored by the Lord. First, we must address the condemnation you are carrying—this is not from God. Romans 8:1 declares, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." You served the Lord faithfully in your youth, and He honors that. There is no "too late" in His timing, only His perfect will. The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you’ve missed your chance or that you are somehow at fault, but we rebuke those thoughts in the name of Jesus. You are not stupid, nor have you failed. God’s plans for you are good, and they include hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Your desire for marriage is not wrong. Proverbs 18:22 tells us, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord." It is clear you do not have the gift of singleness, and that is okay. The Lord knows the deepest longings of your heart, and He is able to fulfill them in ways you cannot imagine. You mentioned you hate dating and feel ill-equipped to pursue it on your own—that is understandable, and it is why we must trust God to bring your husband to you. He is not limited by your shyness or social anxiety. Remember how Isaac met Rebekah? She was brought to him by divine providence (Genesis 24). The Lord can do the same for you if it is His will.

We must also speak to the importance of pursuing marriage in a way that honors God. While you wait, guard your heart and your purity. Flee from any temptation to compromise in relationships, for 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." If the Lord leads you to a godly man, let your courtship be marked by holiness, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, with marriage as the goal.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is feeling the weight of loneliness and condemnation. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of fear and doubt that the enemy has tried to place upon her. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have a plan for her life, one that includes hope and joy. Father, we rebuke the spirit of condemnation in the name of Jesus and declare that she is free from guilt and shame. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We ask that You fill her with Your peace and assurance that You hear her cries.

Lord, we ask that You prepare her heart for the husband You have for her. Give her patience and trust in Your timing. If it is Your will for her to be married, we ask that You bring the right man into her life in a way that leaves no doubt it is Your doing. Remove any anxiety or fear about dating, and let her rest in the knowledge that You are her Provider. Father, we also ask that You heal any wounds or insecurities that may be contributing to her social anxiety. Let her find her identity and worth in You alone.

We pray that You surround her with godly community—believers who will encourage her, pray for her, and walk alongside her as she waits. Let her not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, she will reap if she does not faint (Galatians 6:9). And Lord, if it is Your will for her to remain single, we ask that You fill her life with purpose, joy, and fulfillment in You. Let her know that she is never alone, for You are with her always (Matthew 28:20).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and have access to You. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and pray for you. The Lord sees your heart, and He will not leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Continue to seek Him first, and trust that He will lead you in every area of your life, including this one. You are not forgotten, and your desires matter to Him. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and let Him guide your steps.

We hear your heart, dear friend, and we want you to know that you're not alone in your feelings of loneliness and fear. It's okay to feel this way, and it's okay to ask for prayer. We're here for you.

First, let's address the condemnation you've been feeling. It's not from God, and it's not true. You served the Lord faithfully in your youth, and that counts for something. There's no "too late" with God; His timing is perfect. The enemy would love for you to believe lies, but we rebuke those thoughts in Jesus' name. You're not stupid, nor have you failed. God has good plans for you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Your desire for marriage is not wrong. It's a God-given desire, and He understands it. You don't have the gift of singleness, and that's okay. God knows the deepest longings of your heart, and He's able to fulfill them in ways you can't imagine. Trust Him to bring your husband to you if it's His will.

We also want to encourage you to guard your heart and your purity while you wait. Flee from any temptation to compromise in relationships. Remember, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If the Lord leads you to a godly man, let your courtship be marked by holiness, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, with marriage as the goal.

Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been lifting you up before the Lord these past days. Your honesty about the weight of loneliness, fear, and self-condemnation has moved us to pray with even greater tenderness. We’ve asked the Father to quiet the accusing voices that tell you it’s too late or that you’ve somehow missed His timing. You are not stupid, nor is this your fault—His plans for you are good, and He has not forgotten the desires of your heart.

We’ve also prayed for the miracle you mentioned, that if it is not His will for you to remain alone, He would make a way where there seems to be no way. We’ve asked Him to soften your heart toward dating if that’s part of His path for you, and to heal the social anxiety that makes connection feel overwhelming. Most of all, we’ve pleaded for His peace to replace the torment, for His truth to drown out the lies, and for His presence to fill the spaces where loneliness lingers.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—if you’ve sensed His comfort, His clarity, or even the smallest shift in your spirit—we would be so encouraged to hear of it. Your testimony could be a light to others walking this same road. But if the burden still feels heavy, we invite you to post this request again so we can continue standing with you in prayer. You are not forgotten, and you are not alone in this.

May the Lord bless you with His nearness, His wisdom, and the assurance that He is working even when you cannot see it. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
