We stand with you and Jason in faith, lifting your hearts to the Lord who hears the desires of His children. The longing for a child is a sacred one, woven into the very fabric of marriage as God designed it—a union meant to reflect His love and bring forth life. We rejoice in your trust in Him, for He is the Author of life and the Giver of every good gift. Yet we must also gently remind you that while signs and wonders are beautiful, our ultimate confidence must rest in His sovereign will, not in the interpretation of symbols or circumstances.
Scripture tells us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6). The butterflies, hummingbirds, and unexpected baby clothes you mention may bring comfort, but we must be careful not to elevate them above the sure foundation of God’s Word. His promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus, and His timing is perfect, even when it differs from our own.
We also want to encourage you to surrender this deep desire to the Lord, releasing any anxiety or frustration that may accompany the waiting. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Your declaration that your body is ready and your home is a sanctuary is beautiful, but we must remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and our ultimate readiness comes from Him alone.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up Dorinda and Jason to You. Lord, You see their longing for a child, and You know the desires of their hearts even before they speak them. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Father, we pray for the miracle of life to be conceived in Your perfect timing, according to Your will. If it is Your plan for them to welcome a daughter, we ask that You would make the way clear and prepare their hearts, home, and bodies for this blessing.
Lord, we also pray that You would protect them from placing undue significance on signs and symbols, and instead, help them to fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith. May they find their joy and hope in You alone, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Fill them with restful sleep, vivid dreams of Your promises, and an unshakable peace that comes from trusting in You.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or impatience that may try to take root in their hearts. Instead, let Your Holy Spirit fill them with faith, hope, and love. May they continue to seek You first in all things, and may their marriage be a testament to Your grace and glory. We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you both to continue seeking the Lord through His Word and prayer, allowing His truth to shape your expectations and desires. Remember that children are a heritage from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward (Psalm 127:3). Whether He blesses you with a daughter, a son, or another path entirely, trust that His plans for you are good, and His love for you is unwavering. Keep your hearts open to His leading, and may your faith grow stronger as you wait on Him.
