'Completely Healed!' - Luke 7:10

[After the Roman officer's expression of faith in Jesus,] when the officer's friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed.

Luke 7:10 NLT

Key Thought

The Roman officer's trust in Jesus' power [1] was more than warranted! The servant for whom he was concerned was completely healed — not partially healed, not temporarily healed, not incrementally healed, but completely healed! When we open our lives to the authority of Jesus, when we trust him at his word and do what he says, Jesus can do amazing things to bring us complete healing. The issue isn't his authority or his power or his grace but our willingness to take him at his word and trust in his work. Even if we never experience the complete healing on this side of eternity, we will ultimately go to Jesus' house and find ourselves complete in every way.

[1] Luke 7:6-7.

Today's Prayer

Dear Almighty God, I do anticipate the day that you make me complete in every way. Until that day, I commit to take Jesus at his word and show my trust in him by my wholehearted obedience. I know that my body is made of dust, mortal in every way. However, dear Father, I trust that you have made me your child through the power of the Holy Spirit and that I will experience my relationship with you in perfection when Jesus comes to bring me home in glory. Give me the strength to live this trust with passion and conviction. In Jesus' name. Amen.

All glory to God almighty. By His stripes we are healed.

Prayer Focus: God, I ask You in Jesus’ name, please guard my soul from pride, my heart from callousness, and my mind from distractions on things that have nothing to do with my God purpose. Bless me to keep my mind stayed on You and the things of God. Teach me in my heart and mind what it means to be about my "Father's" business, especially in the world of my thoughts. Let me focus on doing what You have called me to do in the spirit of excellence for Your glory.

Draw me to You. Have your holiness capture my heart and mold my character. Have your Spirit shape my life to reflect your righteousness and mercy. God lead, transform, and control me by your Holy Spirit. May your kingdom come and reign over my heart and govern my life through the Holy Spirit. God, please do the same for the writers of this prayer, and also my family, and friends that desire all that I have prayed. Thank You, Jesus. Amen!
