Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (###) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, ### problems, ###, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for almost three months, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

Update: The landlord hasn't returned the security deposit or the repair costs I paid the technicians... Please pray that he repays everything he owes us!

Update: The community house manager hasn't returned the repair costs, though she promised to do so three months ago. I also paid to repair the house's electricity system which is not lawfully my responsibility to cover the cost as a tenant.

Suffering
Christ's suffering reveals God's love and calls us to trust in his sacrifice for our redemption.
Midnight Exploration: Fifth Night
Poverty destroys the poor, and it calls us to confront the suffering it creates and act with urgency.
Our Life, Our Work, Our Change
Endure life’s brief warfare with patient faith, trusting God’s appointed time brings eternal rest.
We join with you in Jesus' mighty name and bring this burden before the Father together, for He sees all that has happened in that apartment and He cares about justice and your suffering.

We understand how heavy this has been, waiting almost three months without communication, without remorse, and without the compensation and repayment that is owed to you. You have endured problems from lack of electrical safety, illness that followed, costs for alternative shower facilities, threats and other inappropriate actions, and you have even paid for repairs to the electrical system and to the house that were not lawfully your responsibility as a tenant, along with a security deposit and technician costs that have not been returned. The Lord does not overlook such things. Leviticus 19:13 says You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. And James 5:4 reminds us that the wages withheld cry out, and the Lord of Armies has heard. Proverbs 21:15 tells us that it is joy to the righteous to do justice, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

We also hear your heart to not seek vengeance but to see conscience awakened and repentance brought forth, and that is pleasing to God. Jesus said in John 16:8 that when the Holy Spirit comes, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment. And Ezekiel 36:26 promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. We pray for that very work in your landlord and in the community house manager who promised repayment and has not fulfilled it, that their hearts would be softened and stirred to do what is good and right.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. You see the unsafe conditions that were allowed to remain, the illness and distress that followed, the financial loss and the threats that were spoken. We ask that You bring healing to this body that has suffered illness, for You are the Lord who heals, and Psalm 103:3 says who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We ask that You provide for every cost that was unjustly borne and command what is owed to be returned. Let the security deposit, the repair costs and the expenses for alternative facilities be repaid fully and promptly. We ask that You awaken the conscience of the landlord and the house manager, convict them by Your Holy Spirit to speak truthfully, to communicate, to show remorse where there has been wrongdoing, and to make restitution. Like Zacchaeus who said in Luke 19:8 Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much, may they be moved to restore what is right.

We ask for Your protection over our dear one from any further threat or inappropriate action, and for peace that surpasses understanding while waiting. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Help us to not be overcome by bitterness but to commit this cause to You, for Romans 12:19 says Avenge not yourselves, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We do not seek revenge, but we do seek what is just and lawful. Lead to wise and godly counsel and to the proper lawful authorities if needed, for You have established authorities to uphold justice as in Romans 13:3-4, and give favor in that process.

We thank You that You are near to those who wait, and that Psalm 37:5-6 says Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. He will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. We thank You that You hear our prayer in Jesus' name, for John 14:13 says Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. We continue to seek Your will together and trust You to act in Your perfect timing. Amen.

We have been lifting you up these past months and we can hear how heavy this wait has been. Three months with no communication, no remorse, and still carrying the costs for electrical repairs, alternative shower arrangements, and your security deposit is a lot to hold. It makes sense you would feel worn down and frustrated, especially while also dealing with health concerns.

We are continuing to pray for what is right and fair in this situation, and that the landlord and house manager would take responsibility for what they owe and act with honesty. Wanting to be made whole after you paid for repairs that were not yours to cover is a legitimate need, and we pray God gives you wisdom and steadiness as you pursue it.

One step that often helps in these kinds of disputes is to keep everything in writing in one place. If you are able, gather receipts from the technicians, your lease and deposit records, and copies of the written requests you have already sent with dates. That record can make it much clearer if you decide to seek advice from a local tenant support service or legal aid clinic about next options. For the illness you mentioned, please also keep seeing a medical professional alongside prayer so you get proper care.

Father, we bring this situation to You in Jesus' name. We ask for provision for the costs still outstanding, for health and peace in the apartment, and for guidance for our friend in each conversation and decision ahead. Move on the hearts of those responsible to do what is right, and sustain our friend with Your presence while waiting. Amen.

Your prolonged trial and waiting have been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only Saviour and Advocate.

We have brought before the Lord your suffering in that apartment, the lack of electrical safety, the illness and distress that followed, the cost you have borne for alternative provision and for repairs which were not yours by right to bear, and the withholding of the security deposit and other sums owed. We have prayed also concerning the threats and unworthy dealings you have endured, and the silence of these three months which has added sorrow to affliction.

We entreat the Lord that He would awaken and stir the conscience of the landlord and of the house manager by the power of the Holy Spirit, that they may be brought to repentance where they have done wrong, and to do justly and to love mercy. We ask that what is owed would be restored, that every lawful debt would be repaid, and that a spirit of honesty and peace would prevail. As it is written, the Lord is slow to anger, yet He will not at all acquit the wicked, and His justice is perfect though His patience lingers for repentance. We pray that this patience may lead to a turning toward that which is right.

Remember, as we have often considered, that in this life we are all tenants and God Himself is the great Landlord of the house in which we dwell. He has the right to enter and to call us to account, and the rent He requires is a heart that blesses His name at all times. When earthly landlords fail in justice, we may lift our eyes to Him who judges righteously and who has shown His justice most clearly at the cross, where sin was punished in our Substitute, that mercy and justice might kiss each other. In Christ, justice is satisfied for all who trust Him, and from that ground we can ask for justice upon earth without bitterness, leaving vengeance to the Lord while seeking what is right by lawful and peaceable means.

We pray for your healing in body, for quietness of spirit under this burden, and for wisdom to act with both firmness and grace as you seek what is due. May the Lord sustain you in this waiting, keep you from fainting, and grant you to offer still the rent of praise to your heavenly Landlord even in trial, trusting that He sees every wrong and will in His own time make all things right.

We continue to bear you up before God, asking that He will move upon those who owe you, grant you favour and a just resolution, and give you peace that passes understanding through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
