Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (###) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, ### problems, ###, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for almost three months, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

Update: The landlord hasn't returned the security deposit or the repair costs I paid the technicians... Please pray that he repays everything he owes us!

Update: The community house manager hasn't returned the repair costs, though she promised to do so three months ago. I also paid to repair the house's electricity system which is not lawfully my responsibility to cover the cost as a tenant.

Suffering
Christ's suffering reveals God's love and calls us to trust in his sacrifice for our redemption.
Midnight Exploration: Fifth Night
Poverty destroys the poor, and it calls us to confront the suffering it creates and act with urgency.
Our Life, Our Work, Our Change
Endure life’s brief warfare with patient faith, trusting God’s appointed time brings eternal rest.
We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord and we have heard the weight of what you have carried for these many months, the lack of electrical safety in the apartment, the illness that followed, the financial costs for repairs and for alternative shower facilities, the threats and inappropriate actions, and the withholding of the security deposit and repair costs by both the landlord and the community house manager even after promises were made. The Lord sees what has been done and what has been left undone, and He is not distant from your suffering.

Scripture reminds us that God loves justice and righteousness, and that He is a defender of those who are oppressed. Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17. You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. Leviticus 19:13. At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it. Deuteronomy 24:15. When what is owed is withheld, it is not a small matter before God. We also remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord and we are called to seek what is right through peaceable and lawful means while trusting Him to act. Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. Yet we are also taught to use the authorities God has established for justice, for they are servants of God for our good. Romans 13:4.

We pray also for your health and for your peace as you wait. We know three months of silence without remorse or communication can be deeply discouraging, but God hears the cry of those who wait on Him. Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. He heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3. We ask the Lord to restore your health fully from the illness that developed and to provide for every financial need that has come from these problems.

We also lift up the landlord and the community house manager before the Lord as you have asked. We do not pray for harm but for conviction and repentance, that the Holy Spirit will awaken their consciences to do what is good and right. When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment. John 16:8. We pray they will be stirred to return what is owed, to honor their word, and to act with integrity rather than with threats or evasion. We pray blessing over them in the hope that they will turn and do what pleases God. But we say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:27-28.

We encourage you to continue to commit your way to the Lord while also acting wisely. Keep a clear record of all payments, promises, and communications, seek godly counsel, and if needed, seek help through the proper lawful channels for tenants, for the Lord often works through just processes to bring about what is right. Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. Psalm 37:3. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14.

We now pray together in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You see our dear one who has suffered in this apartment, who has been ill, who has paid costs that were not theirs to bear, who has faced threats and who has waited long for justice. Lord, we ask You to heal their body, to comfort their heart, and to supply all that has been lost. Let Your justice shine forth like the light and bring to light what has been hidden. We ask that You awaken the conscience of the landlord and the community house manager by Your Holy Spirit, that they would be convicted of what is wrong and moved to repentance, to speak truthfully, to return the security deposit and every repair cost that is owed, and to provide compensation for the suffering and extra costs that were endured. Remove any hardness of heart and lead them to do good. Protect Your child from any further threat or inappropriate action and surround them with Your peace and safety. Grant wisdom for every next step, favor with those in authority, and patience to wait on Your perfect timing. We thank You that You hear our prayer and that You are faithful to act according to Your perfect will. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We have been lifting this before the Lord with you, and we hear how heavy these past three months have been. Waiting for any word or willingness to make things right, while you are still carrying the costs for electrical repairs, the security deposit, alternative shower arrangements, and the effects on your health, would wear anyone down. It makes sense that the silence and the threats have felt so discouraging.

One thing we have seen is how hard it is when peace depends on another person's conscience changing. You can do what is right and still be left waiting, and that gap between what should happen and what is happening can keep the hurt fresh. We pray you can find some steadiness even while you continue to seek what is owed.

It may help to take a couple of steady next steps alongside prayer. Keep a simple dated file of all receipts, messages, promises made, and repair invoices for the electrical work. If you have not already, consider showing that file to a local tenant advice service or legal aid clinic to learn what options you have for recovering a deposit and costs that are not a tenant's responsibility. And since you mentioned illness that followed these problems, please continue to have that cared for by a medical professional as well as in prayer.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this situation to You. You see the strain, the expenses, and the waiting. We ask for wisdom and clear guidance for our friend, for provision and healing, and that You would work in the landlord and manager to act justly and return what is owed. Give peace and direction for each next step. Amen.

Your heavy burden and long waiting have been laid before the Lord, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer. For nearly three months you have cried for justice while enduring danger in your dwelling, sickness in your body, the cost of seeking a place to wash, the loss of what you paid for repairs that were not yours by law to bear, the withholding of your deposit, and words of threat and unkindness. The silence and want of remorse have added sorrow to sorrow, and we do not make light of it.

Remember that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord, and we are only tenants. There is a lease, and the great Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to see what is done in His property. He beholds how tenants deal with one another, and He will require a just rent. To set your house in order before Him is your first and chief duty, to offer Him the key and to live as one who dwells on sufferance under His care, trusting that He will do what is right. Vengeance is not yours to take, for the Lord will repay, and He weighs all arrears with a perfect balance.

At the same time the Word presses upon us the pattern of forgiveness. There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that it is repeated lest any should doubt it. It is a complete forgiveness, so entire that when a man trusts Christ his sin is gone as though it had never been, for Jesus Christ bore our punishment and God will never twice exact the penalty of one sin. It is a continuous and eternal forgiveness, He not only forgave at the first but continues daily to forgive. And having received such mercy, we are called to a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as Christ forgave you. To forgive is not to say that wrong is right, nor to deny that what is owed should be repaid, but it is to release bitterness and revenge into the hands of God, and to show a great minded spirit which reflects the love we have received. Some of us have had so much outward sin forgiven that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands.

Therefore we pray for you in Jesus mighty name, that the Lord would heal your body of the illness that followed this trouble, that He would guard you from further harm and from every threat, that He would provide for your needs and give you peace while you wait, and that He would keep your heart from despair. We pray that the Holy Spirit would awaken and stir the conscience of the landlord and of the manager, that He would bring conviction of sin and lead to repentance and to doing what is good and just, that what has been withheld and what you laid out for the repair of the house electricity and for other costs would be restored, and that every lawful debt would be paid in full. We ask the Lord to give you wisdom and patience, to help you to seek what is just by honest and lawful means while resting your cause with Him who judges righteously, and to keep you in that forgiveness which is to be found only with God through Jesus Christ His Son, where the offense went, there also the forgiveness comes.

May you now know that there is forgiveness, at this moment there is forgiveness for every repenting and believing sinner, and may that whisper drive away despair and keep your heart tender toward those who have wronged you, even as you look to God to make the crooked straight. We leave your house and your cause with the great Landlord, who sees and who will not forget, and we trust Him to do right in His time. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and the heavy burden you have carried for these almost three months, with the electrical dangers in the apartment, the illness that followed, the extra costs for shower facilities, the threats and other wrongs, and now the added weight of the security deposit and the repair costs you paid that were not your responsibility to bear. It is understandable that the silence and the lack of any remorse or willingness to make things right has been discouraging.

We want to encourage you to continue in prayer with perseverance. Scripture teaches us to pray at all seasons and to watch with perseverance and supplication, and not to limit prayer to certain times. We are reminded of the widow who by her persistence prevailed, of the friend who at midnight kept asking until his friend answered, and of the Canaanite woman who by her constancy called forth compassion, and of the man who waited thirty eight years and did not give up. Even when we feel unworthy or when the answer is delayed, God often uses perseverance to shape us and to show His mercy. Your continued asking is not in vain, even when you have not yet seen a response.

God is a God of justice and righteousness, and He has established justice on earth. In houses and marketplaces, in cities and courts, He has ordained that wrongs be examined and that what is owed be returned. It is right for you to seek what is owed to you, the deposit and the costs you covered for repairs to the electrical system that was the responsibility of the owner and manager. At the same time we are taught even while we suffer to show consideration and to desire mercy mingled with justice, not seeking more than what is just, but asking that those who have done wrong would be brought to see it clearly and to do what is right.

So we join you in prayer in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray for your healing from the illness and problems that came from these conditions, and for provision for the costs you have borne. We pray that the Lord would stir and awaken the conscience of your landlord by the Holy Spirit, that he would see the harm that was done, turn from threats and neglect, repent, and do good by returning the security deposit and all the repair costs he owes. We pray also for the community house manager, that she would remember her promise and fulfill it and return what is owed. We ask that God would give you wisdom, peace, and endurance as you wait, and that He would guide you to wise and lawful help where needed, keeping clear records and seeking proper counsel, while trusting Him to be your defender.

We will continue to pray with you and for you. Keep bringing this matter before the Lord without ceasing, trusting that He hears, that He loves justice, and that He will act in His perfect way and time.
