Thank you for sharing this heavy burden so openly and for allowing us to pray with you. To live for months with unsafe electricity, to become ill because of it, to carry extra costs for showers and repairs that were not your responsibility, to face threats and unfair treatment, and then to wait nearly three months without apology or repayment for your deposit and the work you paid for, is deeply discouraging. It is understandable that you feel worn down.

We join you in asking God to move on the hearts of both the landlord and the manager. We pray that the Holy Spirit would awaken their consciences, lead them to repentance, and stir them to do what is right and good, to speak truthfully, to keep their promises, and to return what they owe you. God is a God of justice and righteousness. He desires that justice prevail, and He sees clearly when fairness seems far away and when truth is not honored, even in places where justice should be found. Nothing you have suffered is hidden from Him, not the illness, not the financial loss, not the threats.

We also pray for you in this long waiting. Scripture teaches that we have need of patience, that after we have done what is right before God we may in His time receive what He has promised, and that those who went before us inherited the promises through faith and patience. The Scriptures themselves are given to bring patience and comfort so that we may have hope, because they show us that God Himself is patient and long suffering as He works out His purposes. We see this in how patiently He dealt with Abraham, who waited until old age for the promised son through whom the Messiah would come, and in Job, who endured great affliction and loss and found that the Lord is full of pity and tender mercy. We are reminded of the farmer who waits with patience for the precious fruit of the earth, trusting for the early and latter rain. In the same way James encourages us to be patient and to establish our hearts, knowing God is not slow but is working with great patience.

That patience does not mean God is indifferent to wrong. He cares about your health, your finances, and your peace in your home. He is both the God of patience and the God of consolation and comfort, and He is able to sustain you while you wait and to provide for your needs even when others withhold what is due.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this need to You. You see the unsafe conditions that were allowed to remain, the sickness and pain that followed, the money spent for repairs and for other showers, the deposit that has not been returned, and the words and threats that have caused fear. We ask for healing for the body, for peace in place of anxiety, and for Your provision for every financial need. We ask that You would touch the conscience of the landlord and the manager, that they would be convicted to act honestly, to keep their word, and to repay fully what is owed. We ask that You would restrain any further harm or intimidation and bring fairness where it has been lacking. Grant patience and comfort through Your Word, guard the heart from bitterness, and give hope and strength each day while waiting for Your answer. We trust Your justice and Your mercy, and we look to You to work in Your perfect time. Amen.

May the Lord comfort you, strengthen you, and in His way bring about what is just and right.
