Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (###) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, ### problems, ###, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for almost three months, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

Update: The landlord hasn't returned the security deposit or the repair costs I paid the technicians... Please pray that he repays everything he owes us!

Update: The community house manager hasn't returned the repair costs, though she promised to do so three months ago. I also paid to repair the house's electricity system which is not lawfully my responsibility to cover the cost as a tenant.

Suffering
Midnight Exploration: Fifth Night
Broken Promises of Marriage
We have heard your heart and we join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, for we know He sees every detail of what you have endured in that apartment and He cares deeply about justice and your wellbeing.

We understand how discouraging it must be to have prayed for almost three months with no communication, no remorse, and no willingness from the landlord to make things right, and now also to be waiting for the security deposit and the repair costs you paid to technicians, as well as the costs you covered for the house electricity system that was not lawfully your responsibility, plus the additional costs for alternative shower facilities, and to have experienced threats and other inappropriate actions and illness as a result of the lack of electrical safety. The Lord does not overlook such things, for He is a God of justice and mercy.

Scripture reminds us that to withhold what is due to another is not pleasing to God, for it is written Do not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy Leviticus 19:13 says You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him and Deuteronomy 24:14-15 warns not to withhold wages or what is rightfully due. We also take comfort that the Lord is our refuge, Psalm 9:9 says Yahweh will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble, and Proverbs 21:15 says It is joy to the righteous to do justice. At the same time we are taught to seek justice in a way that honors God, not taking vengeance into our own hands, for Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, and Romans 13:1-4 shows us that God has established authorities to uphold what is right, so seeking lawful and peaceful recourse through proper documentation, written requests, and wise counsel is appropriate and not contrary to faith.

We also hear your desire not just for repayment but for the landlord's conscience to be awakened by the Holy Spirit to do good and to repent, and this reflects the heart of Christ who calls us to pray even for those who have wronged us. Matthew 5:44 says Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We pray for that stirring of conscience while also praying for your protection and for healing from the illness and stress you have suffered.

We encourage you to continue to commit your way to the Lord and to be persistent in prayer as the widow in Luke 18:1-8 who kept coming to the judge seeking justice, for Jesus taught that we ought always to pray and not to faint. Bring every detail to Him, for Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Keep careful records of all payments, promises made, and communications, seek godly and also practical legal counsel where available in your community, and ask the Lord for wisdom, for James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Guard your heart against bitterness while you wait, for Hebrews 12:15 warns that a root of bitterness can trouble us, and we know God will vindicate in His perfect timing, Psalm 37:5-6 says Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun.

We now pray together with you in the mighty name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father and in whom we are heard.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. You have seen the unsafe electrical conditions, the problems in the apartment, the illness and suffering, the costs for technicians, for the electricity system, for alternative shower facilities, the threats and inappropriate actions, and the hardship of having the security deposit and repair costs withheld despite promises made. Lord, You know the loss and the frustration after months of waiting with no response. We ask that You bring healing to the body and peace to the mind and heart, and that You provide for every financial need and restore what has been taken. We pray that You would stir the conscience of the landlord and also of the community house manager by Your Holy Spirit, that You would convict them of what is right and lead them to repentance and to do good, to return what is owed promptly and fully and to act with honesty and integrity. Take away any hardness of heart and awaken a desire to make restitution. We ask for wisdom and favor as next steps are considered, for open doors to lawful help and for protection from any further threats or wrongdoing. Let Your justice and mercy be evident in this situation, and let Your peace guard this heart while waiting. We thank You that You are our defender and provider, and we trust You to act according to Your will and Your perfect justice. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We've been holding your situation before the Lord and we can hear how wearing these three months have been. Waiting for any communication, for the deposit and repair costs you covered, and for recognition of the electrical problems, the illness and extra costs you have carried, would leave anyone feeling overlooked and stretched thin.

When what should happen and what is happening stay far apart for a long time, that gap can sit heavy on the heart and make it hard to rest. It makes sense you are asking both for what is owed to be returned and for the landlord to be moved to do what is right. Wanting a just resolution and also wanting to be free from carrying bitterness can live side by side, and God sees both.

A couple of steady steps may help as you keep praying. If you haven't already, it can help to keep a simple folder with copies of receipts, your tenancy agreement, any written promises about repayment, and dated notes of your attempts to make contact. Many people in this kind of situation also find it clarifying to get a brief check on local tenant rights through a housing advice service or legal aid clinic, so you know what formal written options are available to you. For the illness and other physical strain you mentioned, please also see a medical professional alongside prayer if you haven't yet.

Father, we bring this burden to You in Jesus' name. You see what has been paid, what is owed, and the weariness of waiting. We ask for wisdom for each next step, for provision in the meantime, for a fair and peaceable resolution, and for Your comfort to guard this heart while You work. Amen.

We have heard your burden and your long waiting these three months, and we have brought it before the Lord in prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and in whom alone is salvation.

You have suffered much through lack of care in the dwelling entrusted to you, through illness and added costs and through words of threat and unkindness, and now through the withholding of what you paid in good faith for deposit and for repairs which were not yours by law to bear. The Lord sees what is done in secret and what is done openly, and He is not forgetful of the cry of those who are wronged.

Bear in mind that truth which has been preached among us, that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord, and that we are only tenants. Every earthly landlord and every tenant alike must pay rent to that great Landlord, and give account for how they have kept the house and how they have dealt with their fellow tenants. There is a clause in that lease which none can escape, that the Lord has at all times the right to enter and to search the heart, and to require justice and mercy at our hands. We pray that He who searches hearts would enter the heart of your landlord and of the manager, and by His Holy Spirit awaken the conscience, stir it to do good, and bring forth repentance where there has been hardness and silence.

We pray in Jesus name that what is owed would be restored, the security deposit and the cost of the repairs to the electrical system and all that you expended for alternative provision for washing, and that compensation for the illness and trouble brought upon you through lack of safety would be justly considered. We ask the Lord to heal what has been harmed in your body, to quiet fear brought by threats, and to provide for your daily needs while you wait. We ask also that He would restrain all inappropriate actions and cause truth and fairness to prevail, whether by a willing conscience or by lawful means ordained for the protection of tenants.

And while we pray for justice, we would also set before you the completeness of that forgiveness which is with God. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is surprising and eternal forgiveness, purchased not by our merit but by the blood of Christ who bore our punishment so that God will not exact the penalty twice. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared, and however great our sin has been, there is forgiveness with God even for the chief of sinners who turns with a penitent heart. Because we have been so freely and fully forgiven, we are called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us. This does not mean to call wrong right, nor to excuse injustice, but to keep your own heart from bitterness and to leave vengeance in the hands of the Lord who judges righteously, while you continue to seek what is right and honest in a peaceable spirit.

We pray that you may be kept in perseverance without presumption, knowing that He who has begun a good work will perform it until the day of Christ. They shall not depart from me, saith the Lord, is His promise to those in covenant, and that perseverance is a perseverance in holiness. May you be kept from fainting, and may this trial set your house in order before the great Landlord, offering Him the key of your heart and finding that He preserves and provides.

Let us pray together. O Lord God, our great Landlord to whom we all must give account, look upon this need. In the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, move upon the conscience of this landlord and this manager, that they may repent of neglect and harshness and withhold no longer what is justly due. Grant healing to this afflicted body, peace in place of threats, and provision for every cost borne. Keep Thy child from hardness of heart, give grace to forgive as Thou hast forgiven, and give wisdom to act uprightly and patiently. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be glorified, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
