Your continued waiting and the weight of these housing problems have been heard. Three months without communication or willingness to make things right, the loss of the security deposit and the money you paid to technicians, the cost of the electrical repairs that were not yours to bear, the need to find other places to shower, the illness and threats you have endured, all of this is a real hardship and it is right to bring it before the Lord.

Scripture shows that God does not overlook financial hardship or the misuse of authority for financial gain. The church in Jerusalem suffered deep poverty and distress, and the apostle Paul spoke openly to other believers about that sensitive need, gathering help from Gentile churches so their brothers and sisters could have food and relief. That example reminds us that God sees when those in a position of responsibility use it for their own benefit and fail to act justly, and He also sees the strain it puts on those who suffer loss. The Bible also gives the example of believers who were themselves poor and going through severe trials, yet out of the abundance of their joy they gave generously to help others. Their joy was not rooted in their circumstances but in the Lord, and God used their generosity to bring thanksgiving to Him.

You have asked for prayer that the landlord and the house manager would have their consciences awakened by the Holy Spirit to do what is good and right and to repent where wrong has been done. That is a biblical prayer. We can ask God to stir the heart toward honesty, to turn from threats and inappropriate actions, and to make restitution where money is owed. At the same time the Bible teaches that the final restitution of all things spoken of in Acts chapter 3 is not that everyone will automatically be restored or saved apart from repentance, but that God will faithfully restore His own work and promises, as He has promised concerning Israel. Paul explains in Romans chapter 11 that a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, and Hosea pictures God bringing back His unfaithful people as a husband restores his wife. Heaven must receive Jesus until that time of God's restitution. That future hope assures us that God is a God who restores, but it also reminds us that we are still in a time of waiting, when justice is often pursued through patient endurance, prayer, and lawful means.

In this waiting, Scripture encourages you to keep putting the Lord first. The prophet Haggai rebuked the people because they worked hard for money but never had enough, and he showed them the reason was that they had not put God first. We are taught to bring the first fruits of our increase to the Lord, not under manipulative pressure to pledge or to borrow what we do not have, but willingly and trustingly, believing He will provide. Paul himself worked with his own hands so no one could accuse him of serving for money, and believers showed love in practical ways, such as helping pay medical bills for a brother in great need. In that same spirit, continue to seek wise and lawful help to document what you paid, what was promised, and what is owed, and to seek counsel from trustworthy people who can advise you on tenant protections where you live. Keep records of all communication, receipts, and medical needs, and do not return threats for threats.

We join you in prayer now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask for Your healing for the illness that has come from these conditions, and for protection from any further harm or threats. We ask that You would provide for every financial need, for the return of the deposit and the repair costs, for the expense of shower facilities, and for daily provision. We pray that You would work in the conscience of the landlord and the manager, that by Your Holy Spirit they would be convicted to speak truthfully, to keep their promises, and to repay what is owed. Give wisdom and peace in the process, guard the heart from bitterness, and help to leave vengeance in Your hands while pursuing what is right in a quiet and lawful way. We thank You that You are just and merciful, that You hear those who call on You, and that You will in Your time bring the true restitution of all things in Christ. Grant strength to trust You day by day and to find joy in You even in this trial. Amen.
