Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (###) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, ### problems, ###, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for almost three months, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

Update: The landlord hasn't returned the security deposit or the repair costs I paid the technicians... Please pray that he repays everything he owes us!

Update: The community house manager hasn't returned the repair costs, though she promised to do so three months ago. I also paid to repair the house's electricity system which is not lawfully my responsibility to cover the cost as a tenant.

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we thank you for asking in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and it is in His name that justice and mercy meet.

We hear how heavy this burden has been, the electrical dangers in the apartment, the illness that followed, the added costs for alternative shower facilities, the threats and inappropriate actions, and now the long wait of nearly three months with no communication, no remorse, and no repayment of the security deposit and the repair costs you paid to technicians and for the house electrical system that was not your responsibility as a tenant. The Lord sees what has been withheld and He cares about what is right and honest. A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight Proverbs 11:1. Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven Colossians 4:1. And we are reminded not to let a hard wait turn into bitterness, looking carefully lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you Hebrews 12:15.

We also take comfort that God is our defender and provider while we wait for earthly justice. Yahweh will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble Psalm 9:9. He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God Micah 6:8. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You see all that has happened in this apartment, the lack of electrical safety, the suffering and illness that followed, the financial loss for repairs and for other costs that should not have fallen on Your child, and the withholding of the security deposit and promised repayments. Lord, You know the stress of threats and the discouragement of months of silence. We ask first for healing in body and peace in heart, and for Your provision to sustain daily needs while waiting. We ask that You would awaken and stir the conscience of the landlord and also the community house manager by Your Holy Spirit, that they would be convicted to do what is right, to speak truthfully, to repent where they have done wrong, and to repay quickly and fully all that is owed. As it is written, do not oppress your neighbor, do not rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning Leviticus 19:13, so we ask for honest restitution. We pray that You would bring forth justice as light and vindication as the noonday Psalm 37:6, and that even in this You would be glorified and that all involved would see Your goodness and be drawn to repentance. Give wisdom to know the right and lawful steps to take, and guard our hearts from vengeance, for it is written do not avenge yourselves, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Help us to seek what is just without hatred, to love mercy while doing justly, and to commit our way to You trusting that You will bring it to pass Psalm 37:5. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit this to the Lord in prayer while also acting wisely and peacefully. Keep careful records of all communications, receipts, photos, medical notes, and promises made, and seek godly counsel and, where lawful and available, proper tenant advice or mediation so that your claim is presented clearly and truthfully. Whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them likewise Luke 6:31, and that standard applies to those who hold responsibility over others. We pray that the Lord will move quickly now to bring honest communication, sincere remorse where needed, and full repayment, and that He will restore your health, your peace, and your home, and guard your heart from anxiety as you wait on His perfect justice.

We hear how long you have been carrying this. Three months of asking, waiting for any word or willingness to make things right, and still paying out of pocket for repairs that were not your responsibility, plus the deposit, plus finding another place to shower. It makes sense you feel worn down and unseen.

Waiting without communication is especially hard when you are also dealing with health concerns and the stress of threats and unsafe conditions. We are praying with you for both the practical needs and for peace while you wait.

One step that has helped others in a landlord dispute like this is to keep everything in one place and get a second set of eyes on it. If you have not already, keep copies of receipts, photos, messages, and any written promises, and consider asking a local tenant advice service, housing counselor, or legal aid clinic what options are available where you live for recovering a deposit and repair costs. They can often explain next steps more clearly than trying to sort it alone. If the illness and other health symptoms are still affecting you, please also keep seeing a medical professional alongside prayer.

Father, we bring this situation to You in Jesus' name. You see what has happened in this apartment, the costs our friend has carried, and the long wait for a response. We ask for wisdom, for provision for what is owed, for safety in their home, and for healing. Work on the landlord's and manager's hearts to act fairly, and guard our friend's heart with Your peace as they take the next steps. Amen.

Your long affliction has been laid before the Lord and we have heard your cry with heaviness of heart. For nearly three months you have waited without a word, without remorse, while bearing the burden of an unsafe dwelling, sickness that followed upon it, the cost of seeking a place to wash, and the added weight of threats and unkind dealing. To have paid with your own hand for the repair of the house electricity which was not yours by law to bear, and to have seen neither deposit nor just repayment returned by landlord or manager, is a trial that would weary any soul. We take your cause to the throne of grace and we plead for justice and mercy together.

We join you in praying that the Lord, who sees all that is done in secret, would awaken the conscience of the landlord and of the manager, and stir them by His Holy Spirit to repent and to do good. We ask that He who moves the heart would incline them to speak at last, to own what is owed, and to restore the deposit and the costs you have laid out, and to make right compensation for the suffering and loss you have endured through lack of electrical safety. We pray not for vengeance, but for righteousness, that what is lawful and due may be rendered, and that threats and inappropriate actions may cease.

Bear this in mind, as it has been preached among us, that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord, and that we are only tenants. The earthly landlord may hold a key for a season, but the great Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to require an account. He marks how tenants are treated, how houses are kept, and what rent of obedience and honesty is paid to Him. We occupy houses which are not our own, and we shall each give account to Him. Therefore we may commit your cause to Him who judges righteously, and rest in the knowledge that no arrears are forgotten before His eye, and that He will in His own time set all things in order.

Yet while we pray for justice, we must also remember the word which says, There is forgiveness with You. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He, surprising and complete, purchased by Christ who bore our punishment so that God will never exact the penalty twice. There is forgiveness with God through Jesus Christ His Son, full and eternal, and He continues daily to forgive. And because we have so received, we are called to a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as Christ forgave us. This does not mean that what is justly owed is not to be sought by lawful means, for the law has its proper course and to restore what is due is itself a part of doing good. But it does mean that in your heart you may be kept from bitterness and from the grim bondage of an unforgiving spirit, even as you seek what is right. To forgive the personal wrong as Christ forgave you, and still to ask for the debt of money to be honestly repaid, are not contrary. Let the Lord keep you in that peace while you wait.

We pray now for you.

O Lord our God, our great Landlord, in whose hands are all houses and all hearts, look in mercy upon Your afflicted child. You know the want of safety, the sickness, the weariness, the cost, and the unkind words endured. We beseech You in the mighty name of Jesus to work upon the conscience of the landlord and the manager, to turn them from hardness to honesty, that they may make restoration and speak with truth and kindness. Provide for Your child what is needed for health and for daily living, guard from further harm, and give wisdom to pursue what is lawful with patience and meekness. Keep Your child from despair, and let the blessed whisper be heard anew, There is forgiveness with You, that the soul may be healed first by pardon through the blood of Christ, and then strengthened to walk in uprightness. Grant that even this trial may be turned to good, and that all may see that You are just and merciful. We ask this for Christ sake, trusting that You hear the prayer of the needy. Amen.

Wait upon the Lord, and continue in prayer. He brings down the heart with labour that He may lift it up in due season, and He will not forsake those who trust in Him.
