Compensation

We have heard your request and your updates over these months, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord. It is painful to wait so long without communication or willingness to make things right, to carry the cost of repairs that were not yours to bear, to be without the return of what you are owed, and to suffer ongoing illness and damage to your skin. God sees these afflictions and He hears your prayer.

We pray with you in the mighty name of Jesus that the Lord would work according to His justice and mercy. We ask that He would stir the conscience of your landlord and of the community house manager, that the Holy Spirit would convict them to speak truthfully, to keep their promises, and to repay what is owed for the deposit and for the repairs to the electrical system and other costs you have carried. We pray that God would lead them to repent where they have acted wrongly, with threats or other inappropriate actions, and to do what is right and good.

We also pray for your healing. We ask the Father to bring restoration to your skin and to rebuild health where your body has been harmed, and to provide for your needs for safe housing and for washing facilities while you wait. We ask Him to guard your heart from bitterness during this long delay, and to give you peace, patience, and wisdom to pursue what is lawful and peaceful for resolution.

Scripture teaches us that God is both just and merciful, and that He mingles mercy with justice. Even while we suffer wrong, we are called to show consideration and not to be overcome by a desire for revenge, but to desire what is just and to leave room for God to work. The exercise of godliness is profitable for all things, more than merely enduring in the body, and part of that exercise is humility and steady trust as we continue in prayer. Hearing and praying the same request again and again is not in vain, for by often bringing what we know to be true before the Lord, we are more deeply formed and strengthened.

So we pray that the Lord would establish justice, love toward neighbor, and truth in this situation, that those responsible would act with honesty, and that you would be upheld in faith and comforted in this trial. May the Lord provide for you, heal you, and cause what is right to be done in His time and according to His perfect will.

Father, in Jesus name we ask for Your mercy and Your righteous judgment in this matter, for healing, for provision, and for repentance and integrity where it is needed. We trust Your goodness and Your power to work beyond what we understand. Amen.

Thank you for sharing these painful updates and for allowing prayer to continue with you through these long months. Waiting without any communication or willingness to make things right, while still carrying the financial loss and the physical effects, is deeply discouraging, and it is understandable that you feel worn down.

I am praying that the Holy Spirit will stir the conscience of your landlord and also of the manager who promised repayment. Scripture makes a clear difference between simply feeling sorry and truly repenting. Godly sorrow leads to a change of heart and a change of direction, and that change is then seen in fruit, in actions that show the heart has turned. Worldly sorrow only feels bad for a moment and brings no real change. My prayer is for the godly kind of sorrow that leads to turning from wrong and doing what is right, which in this case would include speaking truthfully, keeping promises made, and repaying what is owed for the deposit and for the repairs you paid, including the electrical work that was not your responsibility as a tenant. I pray that God would move them to act justly and to make restitution.

I am also praying for your physical healing. The Scripture shows that when Jesus healed the sick who were brought to Him, Matthew under the guidance of the Holy Spirit connected that ministry to the prophecy of Isaiah, that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities. In that sense His suffering was for both spiritual and physical restoration, which is also pictured when we remember at communion that His body was broken for us. At the same time the Bible is honest that healing is not always immediate or in the way we expect. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed and God did not remove it, but taught him to rest in grace. Not everyone is given the same gift of healing, and the body of Christ has many different members, yet God still heals.

I believe strongly that God does heal, and that He heals in many ways. Sometimes healing is immediate, but often it is gradual. There is only one gradual healing recorded in the ministry of Jesus, yet all natural healing processes are still divine because God created those processes in our bodies. Any true healing, whether it comes quickly or slowly through the body's repair over months and years, is from Him. I am praying for that kind of gracious, steady restoration for your skin where it was harmed, that the tissue would be rebuilt and strengthened, and that the long process that may take years would be guided by His hand. I am also praying for healing in your mind and emotions from the stress of threats and inappropriate actions, since Scripture and experience both show how closely the health of the soul and the health of the body are connected. A heart at peace is like good medicine, and I pray God will guard your heart and give you rest even while you wait.

May the Lord provide for your practical needs, including a safe place to shower and the resources to cover what you have spent. May He uphold justice on your behalf, bring conviction where repentance is needed, and bring healing where there has been damage. I continue to bring you before the Father in the name of Jesus, asking for His mercy, His provision, and His restoring work in your body and in this situation.
