We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we have heard your cries over these many months of waiting without communication, remorse or repayment. We understand how discouraging it is to have endured electrical danger in your apartment, illness, the added cost of alternative shower facilities, threats and other inappropriate actions, and then to have also carried the financial weight of repairs that were not lawfully your responsibility as a tenant, along with the withholding of your security deposit and the repair costs you paid to technicians and the community house manager who promised repayment three months ago. We also lift up the painful and lasting harm to your skin in the affected areas and the knowledge that healing may take years.
We stand with you in praying that the Holy Spirit will awaken and stir the conscience of your landlord and the community house manager to do what is good and right and to repent where there has been wrongdoing. Scripture reminds us that God is just and sees all oppression. A just weight and balance are Yahweh's, all the weights of the bag are his work. Proverbs 11:1 and He is the Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he. Deuteronomy 32:4. The Lord also commands, You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. Leviticus 19:13 and Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies. James 5:4. We rebuke the dishonesty, the withholding of what is owed, the threats and the failure to provide safe housing, for these things do not align with righteousness and love for neighbor.
We also take comfort that you have asked in Jesus mighty name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We thank God that you are coming to Him through Christ our mediator.
We pray for justice according to God's will. We remember the parable of the persistent widow and how God honors persistent prayer for justice. Won't God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them. I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Luke 18:7-8. At the same time we are told, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. Seeking what is lawfully owed through honest and peaceful means while entrusting ultimate justice to God is right. Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Isaiah 1:17. We encourage you to keep careful records of all costs, communications and promises made, to seek wise and godly counsel and where appropriate lawful help or mediation, and to continue to act with integrity and peace as you pursue what is owed.
We also bring your body before our Healer. We know the distress of skin that has become damaged in the areas that were harmed and the fear that restoration will take years. We pray for complete healing and rebuilding where damage was done. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17 and But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was on him, and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5. God is able to restore what has been harmed, even when the process is long.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus we come before You on behalf of our dear one who has suffered in this housing situation. Lord, You see the lack of electrical safety, the illness that followed, the extra costs for shower facilities, the threats and all inappropriate actions. You see the security deposit and repair costs that have been withheld, the promise made three months ago that has not been kept, and the burden of paying for the house electricity system that was not the tenant's lawful responsibility. We ask that You move upon the heart of the landlord and the community house manager by Your Holy Spirit, convicting them of what is right, leading them to repentance, to speak truthfully, to communicate with humility and to repay everything that is owed quickly and fully. Let dishonest scales be put away and let justice be done. We ask for Your protection over our dear one from any further threat or intimidation and for Your peace to guard heart and mind during this long wait. Touch the skin that has been damaged, Lord, bring healing to the affected areas, rebuild what was harmed, ease pain and restore health according to Your mercy. Give wisdom for next steps, provide godly counsel and help, and help our dear one to trust Your timing and not grow weary in doing good. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our righteousness and our healer. Amen.
We encourage you to keep casting your cares on Him, for He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and to not lose heart after these three months. The Lord is near to those who call on Him in truth, and He will not forsake those who seek justice with a humble and forgiving heart while still standing for what is right. May the Lord comfort you, strengthen you and bring restoration both financially and physically in His perfect time.
