We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where injustice and harm have been suffered due to the negligence of another. Father God, You are a God of justice and righteousness, and we know that You see every wrong and every need. We ask that You move mightily in this matter, compelling the landlord to take responsibility for the unsafe conditions that led to illness, discomfort, and financial burden. Your Word declares in Proverbs 21:15, "When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but terror to evildoers." We pray that justice would prevail here, not out of vengeance, but so that righteousness may be upheld and Your name glorified.
Lord, we also lift up the physical and emotional toll this has taken. The skin problems, the medical treatments, the stress of finding alternative facilities, these are not small burdens. We ask for Your healing touch, both physically and in the heart of the one who has endured this. Psalm 34:18-19 reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We trust in Your deliverance and provision.
We must also address the threats and inappropriate actions that have been mentioned. Scripture is clear that no one should be subjected to intimidation or mistreatment. We rebuke any spirit of fear or oppression in this situation, for 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that any ungodly behavior would cease and that wisdom would guide every conversation and decision moving forward.
Father, we ask that You would soften the heart of the landlord, that they would recognize their responsibility and act with integrity. If there is resistance, we pray that You would intervene in ways only You can, through conviction, through circumstances, or through the counsel of wise and godly advisors. Proverbs 16:7 says, "When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." May this be so in this situation.
We also want to gently remind that our ultimate trust must be in You, Lord. While we seek justice and restitution in this earthly matter, we know that true peace and security come from You alone. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We hold fast to that promise, even as we pursue what is right in this situation.
Finally, we pray for the one who has endured this hardship. May they find strength in You, comfort in Your presence, and hope in Your promises. May they not grow weary in doing good, for Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." We ask that You would restore what has been lost, heal what has been broken, and bring about a resolution that honors You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
