Compassion In Motion

Ok so I know I said I wouldn't be on for a while. But, I just couldn't help myself. I witnessed the most incredibly, unselfish thing a week or so ago. I wrote about having been thrown out of Texas Children's Hospital, into the rain. Well, here's the flip-side to that inhumane act. While "visiting" still another hospital in the Texas Medical Center, during yet another storm, instead of throwing the "least of these" out into the street, on a stormy night, Memorial Hermann Hospital, seemingly (I don't want to get anybody in trouble) "SEEMINGLY," did just the opposite. I couldn't verify it, but they, appeared to have opened their doors (or at least looked the other way) as homeless people came into their facility, out of the rain and appeared to have had a complimentary meal (food which probably would have been thrown out anyway). Naturally, for obvious reason, when I asked them to confirm my suspicions, security guards pleaded the fifth, in a good way (much respect).

Many of the people were families with small children, posing no threat to anyone. They came in, partook, with dignity, then left without incident. I am in no way endorsing or advertising Memorial Hermann Hospital as a homeless shelter "IT IS NOT." But, it was very refreshing to see COMPASSION in motion. That night, they provided healing of a humanitarian kind, even if only for a moment.

Texas Children's Hospital is not a bad hospital; it just needs a little tweaking in a few areas. Sometimes when we get too big, we lose sight of the little things.

Since GOD is an abundant giver to those who give:

"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.†(Luke 6:38)

In your giving, It wouldn't hurt to keep MEMORIAL HERMANN HOSPITAL in mind. I hear they have an amazing neonatal and children's hospital. And, as I personally witnessed, they actually have a heart. GOD smiled on the homeless that night and HE will smile on your giving as well.

FATHER, we ask that You bless the entire staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital, everyone from the security guards to the Hospital Administrators. Shine a light on their excellence. Bless the patients and their families. Bless the homeless who dwell among them. Help us all to find our way back to what You created us to be. FATHER, GOD we ask that You especially bless contributors "in good measure - running over." It is In JESUS name that we lift up this petition. Amen.
