Compassion and Mercy for Billy

A boy that i knew as a child. He was the oldest of 3 siblings and as such his mother ALWAYS expected him to understand and defer to the whims and desires of his younger brother. And he did. Never an ounce of resentment, always wanted to please. Always understanding and accepting. And now as a teenager, he made a mistake. He went to a university party to celebrate the end of school and he drank alcohol. He had lived a sheltered life and was not used to it, and when he drove home, he had an accident. His vehicle flipped and two passengers were thrown and died as a result. He now faces manslaughter charges! This is a sensitive young man whose remorse cannot be deeper! He has not had a moment of joy since that day! He is not made of sterness or hardness of heart. No jail can punish him as much as he has punished himself already. And the only purpose it will serve is to harden a heart and soul that is kind and compassionate. How will that help our community? this is someone whose life has been one of compassion and understanding towards others every single day, year after year. He deserves some of that returned to him in this hour of need.

I am praying that he will not be incarcerated, he will not survive that! We will lose a tender heart, and no good can come from that! Please pray that the Lord will fill the hearts of everyone, including the prosecutor, judge and jury with the same compassion this young man has had for others ALL of his life! Let him instead be asked to speak to others on the dangers. Because when he speaks of his remorse, it will be seen in his eyes, and heard in his voice from his heart! He would NEVER want anyone else to suffer this fate! He deserves mercy! His trial commences tomorrow in San Antonio, TX

Lord, I stand in agreement for Billy to be treated with compassion and mercy at his trial. I pray You are with him and comfort him right now. I pray You heal his brokenness and restore his life, no matter what he faces after this trial. I pray You strengthen him and make him a positive strong person in this world, wherever he will be, I pray he draws strength from You and that his knowledge of You and Your Word would deepen.
