Comparing Christians to worldly soldiers

I thought about this a few times, but when we speak of soldiers who go to war for their country, most say how brave they are because they risk their life for their country. Well, they may start out brave, but here's the pattern I always see--when they're captured, and likely threatened into doing this, they're shown on a TV interview, siding with the enemy, and saying the enemy's propaganda that America is wrong, and we should give them what they want. I mean, they're patriotic to their country until they're caught, then under the threat of death or torture, they sing a different tune. But then I think of the Christian martyrs through the ages who were under threats to give up their beliefs and swing with the pagan beliefs of {fill in} and 100% different reaction. "They did not love their souls to the death." They DIDN'T give in. "He who loves his life will lose it, but he who loses his life for My sake shall gain it." In other words, those "brave" American soldiers, probably being unsaved, saw death looming over them, and said, no way José, I'll talk like a traitor if it spares me. The Christians, in similar circumstances, didn't yield. That's the difference in the mindset between the saved and unsaved.

Soldiers for the cause of Christ are wonderful people who love the Lord with all their heart, mind, and soul and they are giving up their lives for the love of the Master who sent them to the whole wide world to preach, teach, and tell others about our home in heaven. Worldly soldiers need our prayers. They have too many problems when they return from war. They see awful visions, have nightmares, cannot sleep at night, and live a life of depression and sadness. I do not know why or who put those feelings on them. All we can do is to fast and pray to God almighty to give them peace of mind, joy in their life, and happiness. If you see any unsaved soldier around, invite them to church, pray for them, and make sure they are on their way to heaven.

We are the soldiers of the cross. We are on our way to heaven. God sent us here to be faithful and true to His word. Just live a life that God has given you, all done to the glory of God the Father. Amen

Being faithful to the Lord and His word will make us all soldiers on their way to heaven. Worldly soldiers who refuse to come to the Lord shall end up in hell. Let us all pray for them.
