Common questions about life. Need prayers please

Anonymous

Beloved of All
We should go to the Lord first for HIS help. Not only for help but to bask in HIS presence. I pray for direction IN Jesus name, BUT I feel like I don’t wait long enough to HEAR the instructions due to past trauma, anxiety, and focusing on the problems. After prayer, I will look online or call various orgs for advice but I don’t get the info that I really need. Certain orgs advertise “help” in specific fields but some don’t actually HELP So I feel like there’s a wall. I'M NOT giving up. It’s just frustrating. Is there something within me that is stopping the answers? Am I reaching out to the wrong agencies? Am I making decisions out of dread or feel the need to fix things in my own? Father in Jesus name. Provide solutions please. The Lord is not going to drop a job in my lap, that’s why I apply for work. Some have been scams. What should I do when all doors seem closed despite my efforts. I’m not looking for handouts just info to move forward to self-sufficiency. I don’t want to be homeless.

We praise God that you are seeking Him first and recognizing that true help comes from the Lord alone. Your heart to bask in His presence and seek His direction is beautiful, and we encourage you to hold fast to this truth: *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will act"* (Psalm 37:5 WEB). Yet we also hear the deep frustration in your words—the anxiety, the past trauma, the feeling of running into walls when seeking answers, and the fear of making decisions out of dread rather than faith. These struggles are real, and we want to address them with both biblical truth and compassionate prayer.

First, let us affirm that your desire to work and avoid dependency is honorable. Scripture tells us, *"If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat"* (2 Thessalonians 3:10 WEB), and your diligence in applying for jobs reflects a godly work ethic. However, the enemy often uses our past wounds and fears to distort our perspective, making us feel as though we must *fix* everything in our own strength—or worse, that God is withholding answers. But the Lord is not a God of confusion or hidden agendas. *"For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace"* (1 Corinthians 14:33 WEB). If answers seem delayed, it is not because He is silent, but because He is refining your trust in Him. The prophet Habakkuk cried out in similar frustration, and the Lord answered: *"For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay"* (Habakkuk 2:3 WEB). Your season of waiting is not in vain.

Now, let us address the practical and spiritual barriers you’ve described:

1. **Waiting on the Lord vs. Rushing Ahead** – You mentioned feeling like you don’t wait long enough to hear God’s instructions. This is a common struggle, especially when anxiety or past trauma has trained your mind to expect immediate solutions. But Scripture tells us, *"Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen"* (Psalm 37:7 WEB). Waiting is not passivity; it is active trust. Try this: After praying, sit in silence for at least 10–15 minutes, Bible open, heart still. Write down any scriptures, impressions, or convictions the Holy Spirit brings. If your mind races, pray aloud, *"Lord, I surrender my anxiety to You. Your word says, ‘Don’t be anxious for anything’ (Philippians 4:6). I choose to trust You."*

2. **Seeking Help from the Wrong Sources** – You’ve experienced the disappointment of organizations that promise help but don’t deliver. This is a painful reality, but it does not mean God has abandoned you. *"It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to put confidence in man"* (Psalm 118:8 WEB). While it’s wise to seek practical resources, we must first ask the Lord to *direct* us to the right ones. Pray: *"Lord, lead me to godly, trustworthy people and organizations that will honor You in how they assist me. Close the doors that are not of You, and open the ones You’ve prepared."* Also, consider reaching out to a local, Bible-believing church. Many have benevolence ministries or connections to legitimate Christian organizations that can offer guidance.

3. **Decisions Made in Fear vs. Faith** – Fear is a liar. It whispers that you must *control* the outcome, but faith says, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13 WEB). When dread rises, rebuking it in Jesus’ name and declare: *"God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7). Ask yourself: *Am I seeking this job/organization out of faith or desperation?* If it’s the latter, pause and pray until peace replaces panic.

4. **When Doors Seem Closed** – It’s exhausting to face rejection or scams, but remember: *"A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps"* (Proverbs 16:9 WEB). Closed doors are not failures; they are redirections. Joseph was sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned—yet God used every "closed door" to position him for greater purpose (Genesis 50:20). Keep applying for jobs, but also ask the Lord to reveal skills or opportunities you may have overlooked. Could He be leading you to further education, a different field, or even a season of resting in Him while He prepares the way?

5. **The Fear of Homelessness** – This is a very real concern, and we do not dismiss it lightly. But Jesus tells us, *"Don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ … For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:31–33 WEB). This is not a promise of luxury, but of provision. If you are in immediate need, humbly seek help from a church or Christian ministry that assists with housing. But even in this, guard your heart against fear. *"Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

6. **Is There Something Within You Blocking Answers?** – This is a profound question. Unconfessed sin, unbelief, or unresolved bitterness *can* hinder our prayers (Psalm 66:18, Hebrews 12:15). Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart: *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23–24 WEB). If He reveals anything, repent and receive His forgiveness. Also, examine whether you are truly surrendering the *outcome* to God or trying to manipulate it. Surrender is not defeat; it is victory in Christ.

**Now, let us pray together for you:**

Heavenly Father, we lift up Your beloved child to You, knowing that You see every tear, every frustration, and every fear. Lord, You are not a God who hides Himself, but One who draws near to the brokenhearted. We ask You to break the power of anxiety and past trauma in their life, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding. Holy Spirit, quiet the racing thoughts and help them to *wait*—not in desperation, but in confident trust that You are working all things for their good (Romans 8:28).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has tried to dictate decisions. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We declare that every door You have not opened *will remain shut*, and the right doors—those aligned with Your will—*will swing wide* in Your timing. Protect them from scams, deception, and ungodly influences. Lead them to organizations and people who will honor You in how they assist.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or unbelief in their heart, reveal it and cleanse it by the blood of Jesus. Restore their faith to believe that You *are* their Provider, even when the path is unclear. Give them wisdom to recognize Your voice above the noise of the world. When they pray, help them to listen—to *hear*—and to obey what You speak.

Father, we ask for divine connections: godly mentors, believers who will stand in the gap, and opportunities that align with Your purpose for their life. If further education or training is needed, make the way clear. If a specific job is Your will, let no man shut the door You have opened. And if this season of waiting is for refinement, grant them grace to endure it with joy, knowing that You are preparing them for something greater.

We speak life over their finances, their housing, and their future. You are Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides. You fed Elijah by ravens and multiplied oil for the widow—You are the same God today. Let them see Your hand move in undeniable ways. And when the enemy whispers, *"You’re going to be homeless,"* let them declare, *"My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory!"* (Philippians 4:19).

Most of all, Father, draw them deeper into Your presence. Let them find their satisfaction not in resolved circumstances, but in *You*. Teach them to abide in Christ, the True Vine, so that their life bears fruit that remains (John 15:5). We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

**Final Encouragement:**
Beloved, you are not forgotten. The fact that you are seeking God’s will *proves* that He is at work in you. Keep praying, keep applying, but most importantly, keep *trusting*. The Lord is your Shepherd—you *shall not want* (Psalm 23:1). Even in the valley, He is with you. Even when the path is unclear, He is leading. Cling to Him, not the outcome. And remember: *"The steps of a good man are ordered by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand"* (Psalm 37:23–24 WEB).

Stand firm. The breakthrough *is coming*.

We're right here with you, friend. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and frustrated when we're waiting for answers, especially when we've been hurt before. But remember, God isn't a God of confusion. He's working behind the scenes, even when it feels like He's silent.

Let's try something together. After you pray, instead of jumping straight into your day, take a few moments to sit quietly with God. Open your Bible to a passage you love, or one that's been on your mind. Just sit, and listen. If your mind starts to race, that's okay. Gently bring it back to the present, and remind yourself that God is in control. He's got this.

Also, let's not forget to ask God to guide us to the right resources and people. It's okay to need help, and it's okay to ask God to lead us to the right places. He knows our needs better than we do, and He's more than capable of directing our steps.

And hey, it's okay to not have all the answers right now. God's got a plan, and He's working it out in His time. Trust in that. Trust in Him.

Keep praying, keep seeking, and keep trusting. You're not alone in this. We're praying for you, and so is God. He's got you, friend. Keep your eyes on Him.
