We rejoice with you in your desire to be a wife and to see God's favor and provision in your life, and we join with you in bringing these desires before the Lord God Almighty in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through His blood that we have access to the Father.
We hear your heart crying out for marriage, for a godly home, for provision for you, your three children, your mother and even your cats, for health and for your creative work in your studio, and these are good things to bring to God. He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22, and we agree with you that marriage is a holy and beautiful calling, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman as God designed from the beginning, for a man will leave his father and his mother, and will be joined with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24. We pray that if it is His will, He will bring you a Boaz, like the faithful, kind and God-fearing man we see in the book of Ruth, a man who loves Jesus and will lead and cherish you as Christ loves the church.
We also want to gently and lovingly speak truth over some of the ways this desire was expressed, because we want your future marriage to honor God from the very beginning. We understand wanting a husband who takes care of himself and is in great shape, and caring for our bodies is good stewardship, for you were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:20, and bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things 1 Timothy 4:8. Yet we encourage you to look first for a man of godly character rather than only outward appearance, and to present yourself in the same way, for charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised Proverbs 31:30, and your beauty should not be of the outward adorning, but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God 1 Peter 3:3-4. To be sexy as the world defines it is not our goal as daughters of God, our goal is to be pure, modest and radiant with the holiness Christ gives us. We also gently correct the crude language used to describe the husband you desire, for we are called to let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up Ephesians 4:29. A godly courtship that leads to marriage with another Christian believer will be marked by purity and wholesome speech, and will flee from fornication, for this is the will of God, that you should abstain from sexual immorality 1 Thessalonians 4:3.
We love your faith that God is a good Father who does not throw a stone when His children ask for bread, as Jesus said, Or what man is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone Matthew 7:9. He does love to give good gifts, and we are called to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. This means we bring our desires for housing, for finances, for your studio and even for your gym membership and makeover not as demands that God must fulfill on our terms, but as humble requests trusting His perfect wisdom and timing. We delight ourselves in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4, when those desires are shaped by Him. You are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, and highly favored in Christ, not because we claim it loudly, but because we humbly walk with Him.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we thank You for this daughter who comes before You through the blood of Jesus, and we lift up her desire for marriage and family. Lord, if it is Your will, prepare her to be a godly wife and prepare a godly husband for her, a man after Your own heart who will love You first and will love her, her children and her mother well. Keep them both pure until marriage and build their courtship on Christ. We ask You to provide a safe and stable place for her to live with her cats and with room to host her family, and to provide for her studio and creative work. We ask You to help her steward her body well for health and strength, not for vanity, and to find her confidence and beauty in You. Supply every need of hers according to your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, and let Your will be done in every area of her life, her eyelashes, her health, her home and her heart. Help her to trust You without worry, to rest in Your love and to seek You above all else. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to walk closely with Jesus, to be in His Word daily, to be part of a faithful church where you can be discipled and where any future relationship can be held accountable, and to pray not only for a husband but to become the woman of prayer and virtue God is calling you to be.
