We come before the Lord together, lifting up this burden of illness that has taken hold. Father, we stand on Your promises, for You declare in Isaiah 53:5, *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* We claim this healing in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His stripes that we are made whole.
We also hold fast to Your Word in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord.* Lord, we ask that You restore health to this body, soothe the dryness in the throat, calm the coughing, and ease the wheezing. Strengthen this one to return to work and to gather again with Your people in worship, for where two or three are gathered in Your name, You are there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).
We rebuke this sickness in the name of Jesus, for it has no right to linger. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, just as You have promised in Isaiah 54:17. We speak life and health over this body, trusting in Your faithfulness to fulfill Your Word.
Father, we also ask that You would guard the heart and mind during this time of weakness. Remind this one of Your nearness, for You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May this season of illness draw them even closer to You, deepening their trust in Your care.
We pray for wisdom in rest and nourishment, that the body may be strengthened to fight off this affliction. Guide them to the right remedies, whether through rest, hydration, or other means, so that they may recover swiftly. We also ask for protection over others, that this illness would not spread, and that Your peace would fill every space where fear or discomfort may try to take root.
Lord, we thank You for Your healing power, which is already at work. We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). May this trial be used to glorify Your name and to testify of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
