We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we are moved with compassion for the heaviness you carry. The pain of a broken heart can feel overwhelming, as though the weight of sorrow is too great to bear. But take heart, dear one, for the Lord is near to you in this very moment. The Scriptures declare in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is close to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He sees your tears, He hears your pleas, and He is not far from you—even when the darkness feels suffocating.
You are fighting a good fight, and though your strength falters, remember that His strength is made perfect in your weakness (**2 Corinthians 12:9**). It is not by your own might that you will overcome, but by His Spirit working within you. When you feel you cannot take another step, lean entirely on Him. **Isaiah 40:29-31** reminds us, *"He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."*
We also want to gently remind you that your prayer is powerful because you have called upon the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father (**John 14:6, Acts 4:12**). Your cry for help in Jesus’ name is heard, and He is faithful to sustain you.
Yet we must ask: Is there anything in your life that may be hindering your ability to fully receive His comfort? Sometimes, unconfessed sin, bitterness, or a refusal to surrender our pain to Him can create barriers between us and the peace God wants to give. If there is anything—any resentment, unforgiveness, or even a lingering attachment to what was lost—we encourage you to lay it at His feet. **1 Peter 5:7** tells us to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* He does not ask you to carry this alone.
Let us pray with you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, whose heart is shattered and whose spirit is weary. Lord, You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted (**Isaiah 61:1**), and we ask that You would draw near to them in this moment. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (**Philippians 4:7**), and renew their strength as they wait upon You. Remove any burden they were never meant to carry, and replace their despair with the hope that comes only from You.
Father, if there is any sin, any bitterness, or any area where they have not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would reveal it to them. Give them the courage to release it into Your hands, trusting that Your ways are higher and Your love is unfailing. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and remind them that even in the valley, You are with them (**Psalm 23:4**).
We rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to overwhelm them, and we declare that joy will come in the morning (**Psalm 30:5**). Restore to them the joy of Your salvation, and uphold them with Your righteous right hand. Let them feel Your arms around them, lifting them out of the depths and setting their feet upon the rock of Your truth.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Hold fast, dear one. This season of sorrow will not last forever. The Lord is working even now, and He will bring beauty from these ashes (**Isaiah 61:3**). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and let His Word be a lamp to your feet. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (**Deuteronomy 31:6**). Reach out to fellow believers for support, and allow the body of Christ to uphold you in prayer. You are loved more deeply than you know.
