We come before the Lord with this request, seeking His wisdom and guidance for this relationship. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so, for salvation is found in no other name (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, regarding this relationship, we lift it up to the Lord, asking Him to reveal His perfect will. The Bible makes it clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is not between a man and a woman, or if it is not pursued with the intent of marriage, we must rebuke any ungodly foundation in Jesus’ name. The Lord calls us to holiness, and any relationship that does not align with His Word must be surrendered to Him for correction.
We also address the mention of a "partner" rather than a spouse. If this relationship is not yet a marriage, we encourage you to pursue it with purity and intentionality, keeping courtship centered on Christ and the goal of marriage. The Bible warns against fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18), and we must guard our hearts and bodies against sexual immorality. If there has been sin in this area, repentance and accountability are necessary to walk in righteousness.
Father, we ask You to clear the path for this relationship, but only if it aligns with Your will. Remove every seed of stagnation, distraction, and past hurt that could hinder growth. Strengthen both individuals to walk in alignment with Your purpose, not just for their relationship, but for their individual callings. Help them to be stepping stones for one another, encouraging each other in faith and godliness. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You will direct their steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Lord, if this relationship is not of You, we ask that You bring clarity and conviction. If it is Your will, we pray for wisdom, patience, and a shared commitment to honor You in all things. May they grow in love, respect, and unity, always pointing each other toward Christ. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
