Cleansing my home from bad spirits

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, recognizing the spiritual battle that is taking place in your home. The Bible clearly warns us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, and against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). It is crucial that we address this situation with the authority we have in Christ Jesus and the power of His Word.

First, we must ensure that our foundation is built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that you may be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the power to rebuke and cleanse our homes from evil spirits.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, oppression, or darkness that may be present in your home in the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We declare that your home is a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit, and no evil spirit has a right to be there.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the authority You have given us to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19 WEB). We stand on Your Word, which declares that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18 WEB).

Lord, we ask that You cleanse this home from every unclean spirit, every spirit of fear, oppression, and darkness. We rebuke and cast out any demonic presence in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that this home is a sanctuary for Your Holy Spirit, a place of peace, love, and joy.

Father, we ask that You fill every room, every corner, and every space with Your presence. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard the hearts and minds of those who dwell here (Philippians 4:7 WEB). We plead the blood of Jesus over this home, over the doors, the windows, and every entrance. We declare that no weapon formed against this home shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).

Lord, we pray for the individuals living in this home. Strengthen their faith, draw them closer to You, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to resist the devil, so that he will flee from them (James 4:7 WEB). Teach them to put on the full armor of God, so that they may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11 WEB).

We thank You, Father, for Your protection, Your love, and Your faithfulness. We trust in Your promises and declare that this home is under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1 WEB). In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps to ensure that your home remains a place of worship and devotion to God. Regularly read and meditate on the Word of God, as it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). Play worship music, pray together as a family, and invite godly friends into your home to fellowship.

Be vigilant about what you allow into your home through media, literature, or other influences. The Bible warns us to be sober and watchful, because our adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). Do not give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27 WEB) by allowing ungodly influences to take root in your home.

Lastly, if there are any known sins or unrepentant behaviors in your life or the lives of those dwelling in the home, we urge you to confess and repent. Sin can open doors to spiritual oppression, and it is essential to live a life that is pleasing to God. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).

Stand firm in your faith, and remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4 WEB). The Lord is your refuge and fortress, and in Him, you will find safety and peace.

It’s unsettling when your home doesn’t feel like a place of peace, and we are sorry you’re facing this. We believe Christ’s authority is real and that no darkness can stand where He is welcomed. You are not alone in this, we are praying with you and for your home.

When fear gets loud, it can feel like more than it is. God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. That doesn’t mean you’re imagining things, it means we can face this steadily, without panic, because Jesus has already overcome. We often find that cleansing a home is less about a dramatic event and more about a deliberate, ongoing shift in who we invite into our space.

Here are a few steps that many have found helpful. Walk through each room, speaking simply and firmly in Jesus’ name, thanking God for His ownership and asking Him to fill your home with His peace. If you’ve ever participated in occult practices, kept objects tied to them, or welcomed sin without repentance, renounce them out loud specifically, and remove anything connected to them. Then fill your home with what honors Christ: play worship music, read Scripture aloud together, pray with a trusted Christian friend or pastor who can stand with you. If you’re part of a church, let your pastor know, they can come pray through the house with you or connect you with mature believers who will support you afterward. You don’t have to do this alone.

This isn’t about saying the exact right words; it’s about resting in Jesus’ name and making your home a place where He is consistently honored. As you keep inviting His presence daily, fear tends to lose its grip.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to surround this home and this person with Your protecting presence. Fill every room with Your peace that quiets what is not of You. We command any unclean spirit to leave in Your name, and we ask that Your Holy Spirit fill this space so completely that there is no room for anything else. Grant wisdom, steady courage, and the comfort of knowing You are near. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is a cleansing fountain opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and for you in your own house. Yet the true cleansing must begin within. You cry out against the presence of evil spirits, but the great enemy of souls cares little if he works through the seen or the unseen, so long as he holds power. The black drop of the old depraved blood still lingers in the regenerate, and the guilt upon the conscience must be purged by a simple, clear-eyed faith in Christ. He alone can cleanse that blood which has not been cleansed.

Do not let the fiery dart of the Wicked One wound you with the thought that God has forsaken you or that your home lies beyond the reach of His mighty arm. That suggestion is more deadly than all the other arrows of hell combined. Has He not said, “I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean”? This promise is unconditional and for those who are yet in their sin; He does not wait for you to make yourself fit. Lay hold upon the double cure: the blood to atone for guilt and the water to wash away the love of sin. Where sin becomes loathsome to you, there God’s holy loathing of it will not rest upon you, for He has provided a Substitute.

Turn from every secret idol, every dust-gathering sin that gives a foothold to the adversary. A gradual inward backsliding, a listlessness in prayer, a deadness towards the Word, these are the threads that bind a man as fast as iron bands. Go to the well of Bethlehem, to Christ Himself, and drink of that life-giving stream. Let the healing streams abound. Plead the covenant promise: “From all their filthiness, and from all their idols, will I cleanse them.” Then shall your house and heart alike be delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, and there shall not be one feeble thing among all your borders. God restoreth the soul that is going down to the pit. God delivereth from Egypt with silver and gold. He will arise for your help, and the angels of God shall meet you where you feared to meet a foe.

You need no ritual to chase bad spirits from wood and stone. The dwelling God cares about is your soul, and the demons you should dread are the ones you harbor willingly. When a man explodes in rage and then blames an evil hour or a wicked spirit, he fools himself. The passion is his own, and by it he draws the spirits to him like a feast. Master that wild beast within, and no external foe can harm you. The heart swells from insults, I know, but let the fear of God restrain you as the fear of rulers restrains you from answering back. Say to your soul: It is God who bids me be silent now. Honor Him at least as much as you honor men.

If you want a home truly cleansed, then hear the poor who come to your door. Cornelius’s prayers and alms rose as one memorial before God. Stop your ears to the needy, and your own prayers will be stopped. Bless the afflicted, and the Lord will deliver you in the evil day. That evil day is not some cursed hour but the day of judgment that falls heavy on sinners. The devil rules only those who hand themselves over to him. He has nothing in Christ, and he has nothing in the one who clings to Christ through works of mercy and a meek spirit.

Do not think the enemy is cast out by words you mutter over oil or water. Our Lord made His desire plain: to bring men to God, to teach virtue, to proclaim the kingdom. The devil desires the opposite and scatters what Christ gathers. So if you are not gathering with Christ by holy living, you scatter. How then will you drive away anything? The true victory is the one the fishermen won: not by slaying adversaries, but by converting and reforming them, starting with yourself.

You have come to Mount Sion, to the city of the living God, to an innumerable company of angels, to the spirits of just men made perfect. That assembly is your fortress, not a house scrubbed with superstition. Tear out the heinous habits that defile you: wrath, swearing, covetousness. Eradicate the evil conceit that says these sins are indifferent and do no hurt. When you war against those inward demons, wrestling not against flesh and blood but against the world rulers of this darkness, you gain a thousand battles. Your home becomes heaven’s outpost, and the spirits of the air find no foothold.
