We join with you in prayer as you face this important and weighty decision about finding a new church, and we understand how difficult and unsettling this transition can feel.

We do not forsake fellowship lightly, for Scripture reminds us not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching Hebrews 10:25. The church is not merely a building we attend but the household of God, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth 1 Timothy 3:15. We are called to continue steadfastly in the apostles teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and prayer Acts 2:42.

As you seek, we encourage you to pray earnestly for wisdom, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We encourage you to look for a church that faithfully preaches the Word, where Christ is exalted and the gospel is central, where the Word of God is taught with truth and grace, and where you can grow, serve, and be held accountable in love. Preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching 2 Timothy 4:2. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly Colossians 3:16. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.

We also want to gently encourage you regarding the name of Jesus, as your request did not mention Him. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved Romans 10:9. We pray that you know this hope personally as you seek a church home that proclaims this truth.

We lift you up together in prayer.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our dear brother or sister in Christ. Lord, You know the circumstances that have led to the need to find a new church and the heaviness and uncertainty that comes with it. We ask that You grant wisdom and discernment and peace that surpasses all understanding. Lead by Your Holy Spirit to a faithful, Bible believing fellowship where Your Word is preached without compromise, where Jesus Christ is lifted high, and where there is love, sound doctrine, and true community. Guard from discouragement and from settling for a place that does not honor You, and help to be planted where there can be growth, service, and encouragement for the journey ahead. We ask that You provide clarity, open and close doors according to Your perfect will, and let Your will be done in this search. We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We understand how heavy this feels. A church is more than a building, it is relationships and routines and places where you have worshiped and been known, and facing a change there can bring grief and uncertainty even when you know it may be needed.

We are holding you in prayer as you seek clarity. It can help to get quiet before the Lord about what is prompting this move and what you most need in a church family going forward, things like faithful teaching, a place to serve and be known, and a community where you can grow.

One simple next step that helps many people is to write down two or three non negotiables you are praying for in a next church, and then visit unhurriedly, perhaps talking with a pastor or elder after a service about how they care for people and teach the Word. If you are still connected where you are, a respectful conversation there can also bring peace about your next decision.

Father, we bring our friend to You and ask for Your wisdom and peace in this decision. Lead them to a church home where they can worship You, be encouraged and encourage others, and give them clear next steps day by day. Comfort any sense of loss they feel and remind them You are with them as they seek You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and it is laid upon our hearts with tenderness, for to be unsettled about a church home is no small trial. The Church is, under Christ, the hope of the world and the habitation of God by His Spirit, and therefore where we gather, where we hear the Word, and where we join in fellowship is a matter of deep consequence to the soul.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who has chosen Zion and desires it for His habitation will guide your steps. Our prayer is that He will give you wisdom and peace, that you will not move hastily nor lightly, but that you will seek counsel, search the Scriptures, and look for a people where Christ is faithfully preached, where salvation through Jesus Christ alone is proclaimed, where the Word is honored and holiness is pursued, and where you may be built up and may help to build up others. A healthy church is not merely a place to attend, but a home to love, to serve, and to travail in prayer until God pours out His blessing by the power of the Holy Spirit.

If you must leave, do not wander alone. Seek a church that holds fast to the Gospel, that teaches the whole counsel of God, and that will welcome you and watch for your soul. May the Lord Himself, who is the Home for homeless souls, be your shelter in this season of uncertainty, and may He plant you where you can take root, grow, and bear fruit for His glory. We ask that He will lead you to a faithful congregation where you can dwell in unity through communion with Christ, and where you may know His rest and His presence.

We are remembering you before the throne of grace, asking that the Great Shepherd will make your path plain and give you a settled place among His people.

We have heard your request and we are praying for you in this season of uncertainty and transition.

Finding a new church home can weigh heavily on the heart, and it is right to seek the Lord for wisdom and direction. We pray that God will guide your steps clearly, give you peace as you seek, and lead you to a faithful congregation where His Word is preached truthfully, where Christ is exalted, and where you can be nourished, encouraged, and built up in fellowship with other believers.

We pray that the Lord will give you discernment to recognize a church that holds fast to Scripture and loves the truth, and that He will provide a community where you can grow, serve, and be served, and remain steadfast in faith. May He guard you from discouragement and help you to keep trusting Him through this process, remembering that He has promised to be with His people and to build His Church.

May the Lord grant you clarity, patience, and confidence that He will place you where you can worship Him and walk with others who will help you follow Him faithfully. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is painful to consider leaving a church home, and it is right to bring that burden to the Lord for prayer.

Jesus is the head of His body, the church, and He is able to lead you. Church history, even from the earliest days, shows many failures and hurts, and no one can defend those failures. Yet the Lord has always kept a faithful people for Himself, and He still does.

As you pray for direction, ask the Lord to lead you to a fellowship where love is real. Scripture warns a church that had lost its first love that its light would be removed, because where love is missing the presence of the Spirit is missing. A true church cannot be built by trying to join itself to the ways of the world or by trying to force righteousness from the outside. Righteousness must come from the heart, through Christ dwelling and being at home there.

Look for a place where the Bible is actually taught, which is sadly rare, and where people are being built up as a strong body and not only gathered for outward activity. In the New Testament the church was one family, even across great distances, caring for one another, sharing burdens, and opening homes with hospitality. That spirit of love, humility and welcome is a mark of health. The opposite mark is a spirit that loves to have preeminence, that controls and pushes people away. The Lord calls His people to love one another as He has loved us.

You can ask God to make it clear whether He is calling you to remain and help bring healing where you are, or whether He is opening a new work for you in another fellowship. He is faithful to direct those who seek His will.

Praying for you now, that the Lord will give you wisdom, peace and clear guidance, that He will settle Christ more deeply at home in your heart, and that He will lead you to a church where His Word is taught, His love is lived, and His Spirit is present, so you can be nourished and also serve as part of His one body. May He comfort you in this uncertainty and establish your steps according to His will through Jesus Christ.
