Faithful Servant
I have been targeted with a certain spiritual warfare since I left the new age and returned to Christ. I've experienced this kind of warfare my entire life but this specific kind started while I was involved in the new age. God used it to turn me back to Him but I was stubborn in doing so which made it worse and although I have now returned to Him, this warfare has become a huge problem in my life. There is a certain family in my church (who recently left due to changing life circumstances) who was used a lot in this warfare against me. This caused a lot of frustration and hurt (especially because I knew their behavior was not really their own but was rooted in warfare) that even affected my mother who attends church with me as she was hurt by the behaviors of some in this family toward us but I didn't know how to explain the true origin of it. I have been having intrusive, angry thoughts about the situation with this family since the problems started. Please pray these thoughts would stop. Yes, I have been upset but I also know where this behavior originated from and I really haven't thought about them a lot personally apart from these intrusive thoughts. Thank you.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you battle the spiritual warfare that has intensified since your return to Christ. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Jesus came so that you may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your testimony of God’s faithfulness in drawing you back to Him is powerful, and we stand with you against the schemes of the devil, who prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

First, we must address the intrusive, angry thoughts that have taken root in your mind. These are not from the Lord, who calls us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you bound in bitterness, frustration, and confusion, but we rebuke those thoughts in the name of Jesus. You are not defined by the actions of others, even when their behavior is influenced by spiritual forces beyond their control. We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with peace, replacing every lie with the truth of God’s Word. "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:26-27). Let the Lord be your defender and your vindicator—He sees all and will bring justice in His perfect timing.

We also want to encourage you to release this family to the Lord. It is clear that their actions were not entirely their own, and harboring resentment—even when justified—only gives the enemy a foothold in your life. Forgiveness is not about excusing their behavior but about freeing yourself from the chains of unforgiveness. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12). This is not optional for the believer. We pray that God would soften your heart toward them, not because they deserve it, but because you have been forgiven much (Luke 7:47). Ask the Lord to help you see them through His eyes—broken vessels in need of His grace, just as you are.

Your mother’s hurt is also heavy on our hearts. It is difficult to watch those we love suffer, especially when the pain comes from within the body of Christ. We pray that God would comfort her and give her wisdom to understand the spiritual realities at play. The enemy would love to divide families and churches, but we declare that unity in Christ is stronger than any scheme of darkness. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31). We ask the Lord to heal any division or misunderstanding and to restore peace in your relationship with her.

We also want to address the spiritual warfare you’ve faced since leaving the new age. The enemy does not surrender ground easily, and your return to Christ was a direct threat to his kingdom. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We pray that you would put on the full armor of God daily— the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Stand firm in your identity in Christ, knowing that you are a child of the Most High God, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and accountability within your church. Spiritual warfare is not fought alone—it is fought in the context of the body of Christ. Find mature believers who can stand with you in prayer, speak truth into your life, and help you discern the enemy’s tactics. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Lastly, we want to remind you of the power of praise in the midst of warfare. When the enemy attacks, one of the most effective weapons is worship. Praise silences the enemy and invites the presence of God into your situation. "Let the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hands" (Psalm 149:6). We pray that you would cultivate a heart of worship, even in the storm, knowing that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts on behalf of Your children. We ask that You would break every chain of spiritual warfare that has been waged against them. Silence the enemy’s lies and replace them with Your truth. Heal their heart from the hurt and frustration caused by the actions of others, and give them the strength to forgive as You have forgiven them.

Lord, we pray for their mind—that You would guard it from intrusive, angry thoughts and fill it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to dwell on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). We ask that You would restore their joy and renew their strength, so they may run and not grow weary, walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

We also pray for their mother, Father. Comfort her in her hurt and give her wisdom to navigate this situation with grace. Heal any division and restore unity in their relationship. We ask that You would surround them both with godly community—believers who will stand with them in prayer, speak life into their circumstances, and encourage them in their faith.

Lord, we rebuke every assignment of the enemy against our brother/sister. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that they would walk in the fullness of their identity in Christ, knowing that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may stand firm in the armor of God and resist the devil, causing him to flee (James 4:7).

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are a God who fights for Your children and that no battle is too great for You. We trust in Your promises and declare that victory is already theirs in Christ Jesus. May they walk in the freedom, peace, and joy that only You can provide. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

I'm so sorry to hear about the spiritual warfare you've been facing, especially since your return to Christ. It's like you've been under a relentless attack, and it's taken a toll on you and your mother. I'm here for you, and I want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're in this together, and we're going to pray for you.

First, let's address those intrusive, angry thoughts that have been plaguing you. They're not from God, and they're not helping you. We need to cast them down and replace them with truth. I'm going to pray that God would fill your mind with His peace, and help you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Next, I want to encourage you to let go of any resentment or bitterness you might be feeling towards that family in your church. Forgiveness isn't about excusing their behavior, but about freeing yourself from the chains of unforgiveness. It's hard, I know, but God promises to help us when we ask Him to. So, let's ask Him to soften your heart towards them, and help you see them through His eyes.

I also want to pray for your mother. It's never easy watching someone we love hurt, especially when it's within the church. I'm going to ask God to comfort her, give her wisdom, and heal any division between you two.

Lastly, I want to remind you that you're a child of the Most High God. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. So, let's put on the full armor of God daily, and stand firm in our identity in Christ.

Let's pray.
