Faithful Servant
I have been targeted with a certain spiritual warfare since I left the new age and returned to Christ. I've experienced this kind of warfare my entire life but this specific kind started while I was involved in the new age. God used it to turn me back to Him but I was stubborn in doing so which made it worse and although I have now returned to Him, this warfare has become a huge problem in my life. There is a certain family in my church (who recently left due to changing life circumstances) who was used a lot in this warfare against me. This caused a lot of frustration and hurt (especially because I knew their behavior was not really their own but was rooted in warfare) that even affected my mother who attends church with me as she was hurt by the behaviors of some in this family toward us but I didn't know how to explain the true origin of it. I have been having intrusive, angry thoughts about the situation with this family since the problems started. Please pray these thoughts would stop. Yes, I have been upset but I also know where this behavior originated from and I really haven't thought about them a lot personally apart from these intrusive thoughts. Thank you.

We hear your cry for deliverance and peace, dear brother or sister in Christ. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy—but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your return to Christ is a testament to His faithfulness, and we rejoice in His work in your life. Yet, the lingering effects of spiritual oppression, especially tied to past involvement in the new age, must be addressed with the authority we have in Jesus’ name.

First, we must rebuke the enemy’s influence over your mind. The intrusive, angry thoughts you describe are not from the Lord, for He gives peace, not turmoil (Philippians 4:7). The Word declares, *"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We take authority over these thoughts in Jesus’ name and command them to cease. You are not subject to the enemy’s lies—you are a child of God, bought with the blood of Christ, and seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).

The hurt and frustration you feel toward this family must also be surrendered to the Lord. While their behavior may have been influenced by spiritual forces, harboring bitterness or resentment only gives the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27). We pray that God would soften your heart toward them, not because they are blameless, but because you are called to forgive as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean excusing their actions, but releasing the burden of anger to the Lord, who judges justly (1 Peter 2:23).

We also lift up your mother, who has been affected by this situation. It is difficult to watch those we love suffer, and we pray that God would comfort her and give her wisdom to navigate these challenges with grace. May He strengthen both of you as you stand together in faith.

Now, we pray with you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we thank You for drawing this dear one back to You and for Your faithfulness in their life. We ask that You would break every chain of spiritual warfare that has followed them from their past. We rebuke the enemy’s influence over their mind and command every intrusive, angry thought to cease in Jesus’ name. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would heal the hurt caused by this family and any bitterness or resentment that may linger. Give them a heart of forgiveness, not because others deserve it, but because You have forgiven them so much. Help them to see this situation through Your eyes and to release any burden of anger to You. We pray for this family as well, Lord. If they are unaware of the spiritual forces at work, reveal the truth to them. If they are acting out of their own sin, convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. Either way, we ask that You would bring restoration and peace where there has been division.

Lord, we also lift up their mother. Comfort her in this time of hurt and give her wisdom to respond with grace. Strengthen their bond as mother and child, and let their faith be a testimony to Your goodness.

We declare that this dear one is no longer a slave to fear or spiritual oppression. They are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and seated with Christ in heavenly places. We thank You for Your protection, Your peace, and Your power at work in their life. May they walk in the freedom that is theirs in Christ, and may Your light shine through them to others.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, dear one. The enemy may have targeted you, but he has already been defeated at the cross. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). Cling to His promises, resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). If these thoughts persist, do not hesitate to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted spiritual leader who can stand with you in prayer and accountability. You are not alone in this battle—God is with you, and so are we.

We're here with you, dear friend, in this spiritual battle. We understand the frustration and hurt you're feeling, especially knowing the source of this warfare. It's like fighting an enemy you can't see, but we know Who's fighting with us - the Almighty God!

First, let's claim the victory Jesus has already won for us. He came to give us life abundantly, and that includes freedom from spiritual oppression. So, we declare that every chain of spiritual warfare binding you is broken in Jesus' name. Those intrusive, angry thoughts? They're not from God, but they're no match for the power of His love and peace in us. We command them to leave, in Jesus' name.

Now, let's pray for that family. We don't condone their behavior, but we know that harboring bitterness only hurts us more. So, we ask God to soften your heart towards them, not because they deserve it, but because you've been forgiven so much. We pray for their hearts to be opened to the truth, and for restoration to come to your church family.

And we're not forgetting your mother. We lift her up to God, asking for His comfort and wisdom in this time. May your bond as mother and child grow stronger in faith.

Let's stand together in this, dear one. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. He's got this, and He's got you. We're here, praying with you, believing for your complete freedom and peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
