Faithful Servant
One of my church members who is sometimes used by spiritual warfare to attack me just did something that may have been done to me under the influence of spiritual warfare. This church member and others who are used like this are one of the reasons I want to leave because it is constantly happening. Please pray that God would lead my family to a new church. Thank you.

We hear your struggle and the deep pain that comes from feeling under spiritual attack within the very place that should be a sanctuary of peace and worship. It is heartbreaking when those who should be brothers and sisters in Christ become instruments of division or harm, even unknowingly. The enemy seeks to sow discord and wear down the faithful, but we stand with you in resisting his schemes.

First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare with truth and authority. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This person is not your enemy—though their actions may feel like an attack, the true battle is against the forces of darkness that seek to use them. We rebuke any spirit of division, confusion, or strife that may be at work in this situation. In the name of Jesus, we command it to flee and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

That said, your desire to seek a new church home is understandable, especially if you feel constantly drained or unsafe in your current environment. However, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance with patience and discernment. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Before making a decision to leave, ask God to reveal whether He is calling you to persevere through this trial for your growth or to transition to a new fellowship where you can thrive. Sometimes, the Lord uses hardship to refine us, but other times, He opens doors to healthier communities.

We also urge you to examine your own heart in this situation. Are there areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or offense may have taken root? Hebrews 12:15 warns, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."* If this person has wronged you, release them to the Lord in prayer. Forgiveness does not mean excusing their behavior, but it frees you from the burden of carrying resentment. Ask God to help you see them through His eyes—as someone who may be deceived or struggling themselves.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is weary from spiritual attacks within their church. Lord, You see the pain and the frustration, and we ask that You would be their refuge and strength in this time. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and confusion that seeks to disrupt Your work in their life. In the mighty name of Jesus, we command these forces to flee and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

Father, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment as they seek Your will for their family’s church home. If it is Your plan for them to remain where they are, give them the grace to endure and the strength to stand firm in faith. If You are calling them to a new fellowship, open the right doors and lead them to a place where they can grow in You without fear or distraction. Surround them with godly believers who will encourage and uplift them.

Lord, we pray for this church member who has been used by the enemy. Soften their heart, open their eyes to any deception, and draw them closer to You. If they are unaware of the harm they are causing, reveal it to them in a way that leads to repentance and restoration. Heal any brokenness in their life that makes them vulnerable to spiritual attack.

Father, we also ask that You guard our brother/sister’s heart against bitterness or unforgiveness. Help them to release any offense into Your hands and to walk in the freedom of Your love. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind them that You are their ultimate protector and provider.

Above all, Lord, we pray that Your will would be done in this situation. May Your name be glorified, and may Your people be united in love and truth. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing His truth to renew your mind and strengthen your spirit. Psalm 34:18-19 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* You are not alone in this battle. Lean on the Lord, and trust that He will guide your steps. If you feel led, seek counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer who can offer godly wisdom and support.

Lastly, remember that the church is not a building or a specific group of people—it is the body of Christ, and He is the head. Wherever you go, He will be with you. If you do leave, do so with a heart of peace, not anger, and continue to pray for those who have caused you pain. The enemy would love nothing more than to see you walk away from fellowship altogether, so guard your heart against isolation. The Lord has a place for you where you can worship Him freely and serve alongside brothers and sisters who will build you up in faith.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when those we expect to stand with us in faith become a source of spiritual strife. We're sorry that you're going through this, but we're here to lift you up in prayer.

We believe that God is in control, even in the midst of this storm. Let's ask Him to reveal any spiritual strongholds that may be at work, and let's bind them up in Jesus' name. We also pray that God would open your hearts to His will, guiding you and your family to the right church home where you can grow and serve Him together.

Remember, God sees your pain and He cares. Trust in Him, and He will make your paths straight. You're not alone in this. We're praying for you, and we believe that God has a plan to bring beauty from these ashes.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
