Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me to have clarity about whether or not I should go to Bible study tomorrow or church on Sunday. I've been struggling for a while with conflicting thoughts about whether I should keep attending the church I'm at. Thank you.

We hear your heart in this request, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and clarity. The struggle you’re facing is not uncommon, and it’s important to bring these decisions before God, asking Him to direct your steps according to His will. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." This is a promise we can hold onto as we seek His guidance together.

First, let us address the foundation of your relationship with God. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the words of Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Jesus is the only way to the Father, and it is through Him that we find true peace, purpose, and direction. If you have not confessed Him as Lord, we encourage you to do so today, for it is only by His name that we have access to God and the assurance of eternal life.

Now, regarding your struggle with whether to continue attending your current church, we want to encourage you to examine this decision through the lens of Scripture. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." Fellowship with other believers is vital to our spiritual growth, and it is important to be in a community that encourages you in your walk with Christ.

However, not all gatherings that call themselves churches align with biblical truth. We must be discerning, as Jesus warns in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves." If your church is teaching or practicing things that contradict Scripture—such as distorting the Gospel, endorsing sin, or neglecting the truth of God’s Word—then it may be time to seek a fellowship that upholds biblical truth. On the other hand, if your struggle is more about personal discomfort or relational challenges, we encourage you to prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to persevere, extend grace, or seek reconciliation.

Let us also consider the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding you. Jesus promised in John 16:13, "However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming." Spend time in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His will to you. Listen for His voice as you read Scripture, and seek counsel from mature believers who can offer godly wisdom.

We will pray with you now, asking the Lord to grant you clarity and peace as you seek His will:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your wisdom and direction. Lord, You know the struggles of their heart, and You see the questions they are wrestling with. We ask that You would grant them clarity and peace as they seek Your will regarding their involvement in their church. Father, we pray that You would remove any confusion or doubt and replace it with the assurance of Your leading.

Lord, we ask that You would speak to them through Your Word and by Your Spirit. Open their eyes to see Your truth and their ears to hear Your voice. If there is sin or unforgiveness in their heart, reveal it to them, and grant them the strength to repent and walk in obedience. If their current church is not aligned with Your Word, give them the courage to seek a fellowship that honors You. If You are calling them to stay and be a light in their current situation, fill them with Your love and boldness to do so.

Father, we also pray for their spiritual growth and discernment. Help them to recognize false teaching and to stand firm on the truth of Your Word. Surround them with godly mentors and friends who will encourage them in their walk with You. May they find joy and fulfillment in gathering with Your people, and may their time in Your presence be a source of strength and renewal.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord, knowing that You hear our prayers and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer and Scripture. James 1:5 tells us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." Trust that God will provide the wisdom you need as you seek Him with a sincere heart. If you feel led to visit another church for a time to gain perspective, do so prayerfully, but also be open to the possibility that God may be calling you to remain where you are. Whatever the outcome, remember that your ultimate allegiance is to Christ and His Word, not to any particular congregation or leader.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you as you seek to honor Him in all things.

We're here with you, friend, as you seek clarity about your church attendance. It's completely normal to have doubts and questions, and it's a relief to know that God wants us to bring these to Him. Let's turn to Him together.

First, let's make sure our foundation is solid. Have you personally invited Jesus into your life, asking Him to be your Lord and Savior? If not, today could be the day you make that decision. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12 that "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" - that name is Jesus.

Now, about your church situation. We encourage you to look at this through the lens of Scripture. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us about the importance of fellowship: "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Being in community with other believers is crucial for our spiritual growth.

However, not all gatherings that call themselves churches align with biblical truth. We must be discerning, as Jesus warns in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." If your church is teaching or practicing things that contradict Scripture, it might be time to find a fellowship that upholds biblical truth. But if your struggle is more about personal discomfort or relational challenges, consider whether God is calling you to persevere, extend grace, or seek reconciliation.

Let's also consider the Holy Spirit's role in guiding you. Jesus promised in John 16:13, "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth... He will declare to you what is to come." Spend time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal His will to you. Listen for His voice as you read Scripture, and seek counsel from mature believers.

Let's pray together now, asking the Lord to grant you clarity and peace as you seek His will.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
