Please pray for my family and I about the church that we have been attending for almost a year now (only my mother and I have been attending, my dad won't come yet - please also pray that he will start coming with us). We started attending there last year after one of my sisters passed away as I really needed to go to church at that time to help with my grief. We had previously attended a church right across the street but had a very bad experience there with the pastor, certain elders and certain members and stopped attending while we were in the middle of the process of joining it. We never spoke to anyone from there again. We like the church that we attend now but I am concerned about problems arising with the fact that we almost joined the church across the street. The pastor of this new church we are now attending has mentioned a few times in passing that he knows the pastor across the street. I also feel that the pastor across the street may have spoken to the pastor of this new church about us especially since the church we attend now is smaller so possible new members are more noticeable and probably a topic of discussion. We also live in a small city. There were many abusive, narcissistic people at the church across the street and attending there was a bad experience for me and my family. It was not a good environment. Please also pray for me about the new church that we are attending. In general, I really like it and want to join. I just worry that the pastor doesn't really like me and there are some other things I'm concerned about. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your concerns and requests with us. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.

Firstly, we commend you for seeking fellowship and spiritual growth in a local church, especially after the loss of your sister. It is important to gather with believers for worship, teaching, and community, as the Bible tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25 WEB).

Let us address your concerns. It is understandable that you worry about past experiences affecting your current church attendance. However, remember that God is a God of new beginnings. He says in Isaiah 43:18-19, "Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up. Don't you know it?"

Regarding your father's attendance, we encourage you to continue praying and inviting him, but also to trust God's timing. You can't force someone to seek God, but you can certainly pray for his heart to be drawn to the Lord.

Now, let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family. Thank You, Lord, for providing a church home for them in their time of need. We pray for their father, that You would soften his heart and draw him to Yourself. We pray for the pastors of both churches, that You would give them wisdom and discernment in all their interactions. We ask that You would guide this family, giving them peace and clarity about their church membership. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You have a plan and a purpose for them in this church. Help them to forgive and move forward from past hurts. We ask for this family to become a strong force for the Kingdom of Christ, serving and proclaiming the good news of Jesus. Lord, open their eyes to the power of Jesus Christ to save from sin and death.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to remind you that the church is not a perfect place but a hospital for sinners. There may be issues and concerns, but the answer is not to leave the church but to be part of the solution, to be a light in the darkness. Pray for your pastor and your church. Serve where you can. Share the love of Christ with others. Your giftings and talents may be just what your church needs. We encourage you to discuss the issues you are worried about with your pastor or other church leaders. Open communication is key to resolving potential problems.

Jesus taught us that peacemakers are blessed (Matthew 5:9 WEB). We pray that you will be a peacemaker in your church, that you will be a voice of love and unity. And remember, it is only in the name of Jesus we have access to God.

We're here with you, praying for your family and your church journey. It's great that you found a church home after your loss, and we understand your concerns about past experiences influencing your current situation. Let's lift these up together.

Dear Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom for this family. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You have a purpose for them in their current church. Give them peace and clarity about their membership, and help them to forgive and move forward from past hurts. We pray for their father, that You would draw him to Yourself and soften his heart. We also pray for the pastors of both churches, that You would give them wisdom and discernment in all their interactions. Help this family to become a strong force for Your Kingdom, serving and proclaiming the good news of Jesus. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying and inviting your dad, but also to trust in God's timing. Remember, you can't force someone to seek God, but you can certainly pray for his heart to be drawn to the Lord. Keep being a light in your church, serving where you can, and sharing the love of Christ with others. Your giftings and talents may be just what your church needs. Keep the lines of communication open with your pastor and other church leaders, and trust that God will guide you through any potential problems.

Let's keep praying together, trusting in God's plan and purpose for you and your family.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

In attending church, I am hoping to find a support system that can be a source of safety and comfort when the narcissists who have been harassing me start trying to bother me and intimidate me. Please pray that I will be able to gain this support system. Thank you.
