Humble Prayer Partner
Our church sent out an all members email and letter this past week. It informed us that the elders had unanimously asked the head pastor for his resignation. He had no choice but to give it.
It stated vague issues such as poor decision making and bad judgment as the reasons for him no longer being fit for the job. (They did state he had not committed any moral sin.)
They cited the elder/deacon guidelines chapters of Titus and 1st Timothy, saying he no longer lived up to them.
We spent the days after we got the letter in shock and didn't have the heart to go to church. This was probably an undeserved move by the elders and our hearts hurt for this pastor. The church will lose members now as most everyone loved this pastor. And he had been chosen by the elders 2 years ago. He had moved from his home state, with his wife and kids to serve our church.
It just is a shocking mess.
