Asking for a "double portion" is an Old Testament/Old Covenant concept. No place in the New Testament/New Covenant teachings does anyone speak of a "double portion". We have the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit living within us. How can we get double of God Himself?
2 Peter 1:2-3 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
God's grace and peace can be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God. That does not mean that the grace and peace of God increases; it means that you can receive more of what God has already provided, through the knowledge of God. It sounds like you do not need more people in your church; it is more likely you need more of God in your church.
Do you have the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Jesus arrived on this earth filled with the Holy Spirit, the same thing a believer has after being reborn. But Jesus was baptized in the Holy Spirit immediately after John the Baptist baptized Jesus. The apostles were believers and received the filling of the Holy Spirit when Jesus breathed on them before Pentecost. Jesus told the apostles to wait until the Holy Spirit came upon them for power. After Pentecost the apostles had power. The Holy Spirit came upon them for power, not to fill them with the Holy Spirit.
Ask and it shall be given unto you.
In the name of Jesus, I bless you with the life of God and with His wisdom and understanding.
(Read the first chapter of Ephesians to see what believers have already been given. Meditate on it and ask the Lord to enlighten you with what it really says.)
