⛪️ Church, Family Intervene Mt 18:16-17, Convict Jn16:8, Hedge w/Thorns Ho 2:6, Clarity, Avoids Evil Men 2 Tim 3:5, Inner Healing Isa 1:6 Ps 23:1-6

Thank you for sharing this burden so openly and for the persistence you have shown in prayer. Your desire is not for harm but for restoration, that God would intervene before sin hardens further, and that is a right and loving desire.

Scripture shows that God does lovingly block paths that lead to destruction. As you prayed from Hosea, He can hedge a way with thorns so that a person cannot overtake what they are chasing, not to punish but to cause them to turn and come to their senses, like the prodigal who finally said I have sinned against heaven and before you. That kind of turning is what God seeks. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and righteousness and judgment, and we can ask Him to do that work clearly, because only He can bring true clarity where there is confusion and deception.

Your prayer for the family and for spiritual leaders to step in is biblical. Jesus taught that when someone is caught in sin, it should be addressed first privately, then with one or two witnesses, then with the oversight of the church. That pattern is given for restoration, not for shaming. It requires spiritually mature people who will speak the truth with both gentleness and firmness, keeping watch over themselves as well, and who fear God more than they fear people. The fear of man is a snare, but the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and means hating evil. Pray that those who have influence would love this woman enough to tell her the truth, even when it is difficult, and that she would not simply leave fellowship to avoid being confronted, but would hear the warning and flee youthful desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

It is important to understand what true repentance is. There is a sorrow that is only about consequences, and that kind of sorrow brings death. Godly sorrow works a change. It is a turning of mind and direction that is then proven by deeds, bearing fruit in keeping with repentance, returning to God for refreshing. It is not just hinting at wrong or feeling regret, but confessing sin honestly before God, including the violation of the marriage covenant, which God ordained as a lifelong union of one man and one woman where sexual faithfulness belongs, and turning from what violates it, whether in body or in heart, and whether through physical unfaithfulness or through seeking others online. Grace is never a license to continue in immorality. God's kindness is meant to lead us to repentance, because He is not willing that any should perish, but He also warns that every soul that does evil will face His judgment if they do not repent. God is not mocked, whatever a person sows they will reap.

You also asked for wisdom, knowledge of God, and inner healing. Those go together. Wisdom from God gives discernment to choose the excellent path and to be blameless, and the Shepherd who restores the soul is the one who heals the wounds and bruises that sin leaves, the kind described as from head to foot there is no soundness. Ask for that healing, and for strength to do what is right each day, to meet pressing needs, to fast and pray as God enables, and to be delivered from temptation, lies, evil, and from the influence of those who have a form of godliness but deny its power. Scripture tells us to turn away from such influence.

There is encouragement for you as well. The early church shows us the pattern God desires, not the failures of later history. When the church allowed compromise and hypocrisy to remain, its witness was weakened and its power was diminished. When it purged out the leaven and walked in purity, God gave power. That is true for a congregation and for a family and for an individual. Do not look to what others have tolerated to set the standard, look to the Scripture itself. God has always kept a faithful witness even in corrupt settings, and He still calls His people to repent and to listen to what the Spirit says.

You have not claimed to have attained anything yourself, and that humility is right. We all stand only by His grace, and we must take heed lest we fall. He alone is able to keep us from stumbling and to make us stand. Continue in His kindness, abounding in love with knowledge and discernment, filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so you may walk worthy of Him.

So continue to pray, as you have, with thanksgiving that God hears, asking for messengers who will bring the Word with the sword of the Spirit, not negligently but with love, reverence for His covenant, and zeal, gently and firmly, so that if God perhaps grants repentance she may escape the snare of the devil and so that others may also learn to fear sin. Pray for protection for yourself and for the child and for all involved, that you would be delivered from the evil one, and pray for open rebuke where it is needed, for renewal of the mind, and for salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for without Him none can be saved.

May the Lord grant increasing clarity, fill you with wisdom, guard you from deception, and bring the deep inner restoration only He can give, to the glory and praise of God.
