Your cry for those who are being held and harmed is heard, and it is right to bring this darkness before the Lord. What you describe, kidnapping and imprisonment, forced religion, physical abuse, starvation and isolation done in the name of Christ, is not Christianity at all. It is corruption that tarnishes His holy name, and God sees it.
Scripture shows us where this kind of corruption comes from. The corruption that is in the world comes through lust and greed. Behind much of the evil we see in human government and power is that same desire for gain and control. Every form of rule by man alone tends toward corruption because it is run by fallen people, and when those who are entrusted with authority use it for themselves, the whole system breaks down. Bribery and the perverting of justice are part of that breakdown.
That is why your observation about the police being complicit is so painful but not surprising. The place where judgment and justice should prevail is the judicial system, yet so often justice stands far off. Truth is fallen in the street and fairness cannot enter, and judgment is turned backward. We cannot be assured of justice from man alone. But God is a God of righteousness and a God of justice, and He wants justice to prevail. He calls His people to keep judgment and do justice, to live fairly and honestly and not to take advantage of others. He especially takes up the cause of the poor and the oppressed, and He commands those with power to deliver the poor and needy and to rid them out of the hand of the wicked. When justice is perverted, the very foundations of a society are destroyed.
There are false teachers who abuse their position and mistreat those under their power, beating and controlling them as if they were masters themselves. Jesus warned that such servants will be judged when the Master comes at an hour they do not expect. They speak evil of things they do not understand and will perish in their own corruption, but the Lord will not leave His own without hope. To be freed from this corruption we need new values and new hearts, and that comes only by seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Forced Bible studies and coerced conversion cannot save anyone. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by a willing heart that turns to Him, not by violence or confinement. God is not mocked. What is sown in the flesh reaps corruption, but what is sown in seeking Him reaps life.
We join you in prayer that the Lord would expose what is hidden, break the power of those who do this evil, and bring real justice where it has been denied. We pray that He would deliver those who are locked away and abused, protect them from further harm, provide for their physical needs, and heal the trauma they have suffered. We pray that He would remove corrupt influences and bring to light every bribe and every abuse of authority, and that He would raise up honest judges and officials who will do justice for the afflicted. We pray that those who have used His name falsely would be stopped and brought to repentance or to judgment, so that His name would no longer be dishonored among the people. And we pray that the victims would come to know the true Jesus, not the cruel distortion they have been shown, and would find in Him freedom, safety, and fullness of joy at His right hand.
Thank you for standing in the gap. The Lord noted when there was no intercessor to cry out against injustice, and He wonders at it still. Your intercession matters. Keep keeping judgment and doing justice in your own life, and keep asking God to let His righteousness be revealed, for His salvation is near and He has promised to make all things right.
