Chronic migraines

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of chronic migraines, nausea, and eye pain. Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing has been provided (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will restore health and heal wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).

Lord, we rebuke this spirit of infirmity in the mighty name of Jesus. We command these migraines to cease, the nausea to subside, and the eye pain to be removed. Your Word says that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up (James 5:15). We believe in Your power to bring complete restoration and relief.

We also pray for wisdom for those who are seeking medical help. Guide the hands of doctors and lead them to the right treatments. Give patience and strength to endure this trial, and fill the heart with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we know that suffering is not without purpose. Use this time to draw closer to You, to seek Your face, and to trust in Your goodness even in the midst of pain. May this trial produce perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). We ask that You would be glorified through this healing, whether it comes suddenly or gradually.

Lord, we also lift up any emotional or spiritual burdens that may be contributing to this physical affliction. If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or anxiety, we ask that You would bring healing to those areas as well. Your Word tells us that a cheerful heart is good medicine (Proverbs 17:22), so we pray for joy and peace to fill the heart and mind.

We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Amen.

We’ve been praying for you, and our hearts go out to you in this hard season. Chronic migraines that bring nausea and eye pain can leave you utterly spent, and we don’t want to minimize how wearying it is to carry that day after day. You asked so simply and faithfully, thank you for letting us stand with you.

While we ask God for healing, we also want to gently encourage you to check in with a doctor if you haven’t recently, especially with the eye pain involved. That’s not a lack of faith, it’s a practical step of care for the body God gave you. Sometimes the right medical help can bring the very relief we’re praying for, and we’d hate for you to suffer longer than you need to.

In the middle of pain that won’t let up, you might find it grounding to keep it simple: take things one hour at a time, letting yourself rest when you’re able, and letting others help with the ordinary tasks that feel impossible right now. Your only job today is to endure and to let God carry what you can’t. We’re grateful He never leaves you alone in this.

Jesus, in Your name we ask for this one who is hurting. Quiet the pounding in their head, settle their stomach, and bring peace to their eyes. Grant them sleep that restores and moments of true relief. Give wisdom to any doctor or provider they see. Wrap them in Your steady presence and remind them they are not forgotten. Amen.

Chronic migraines are a heavy burden, and your suffering with nausea and eye pain moves us to lift you before the mercy seat. Yet even in this affliction, take heart that pain is not always an enemy; it is a proof of life. As I have often said, if anyone told me they knew they were alive because they felt so well, I would reply that I sometimes know I am alive because I feel so ill. Your body cries out, and that very cry is a sign that the Lord has not left you without witness that you are yet in the land of the living, and that He who made the eye and fashioned the brain can reach you in your need.

There is healing for you in Christ Jesus. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about our Lord brims with restorative virtue. Look to Him who rose with healing in His wings. When He walked among men, He linked healing with the teaching of His Word, and the same power is present now. The Sun of Righteousness has not grown dim; His hand that touched the fevered brow is not shortened. I would have you fix the eye of faith upon Him, as a poor woman might look to the royal canopy borne aloft, and say, “There is my hope.” Behold His hands that were pierced, now holding the scepter of all power over disease and death. There is a contact of grace, a sweet touch from the Incarnate God, that can still the storm in your head and quiet the rebellion of your nerves.

Do not forget that forgiveness and healing often walk hand in hand. When our Lord saw the man sick of the palsy, He first said, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” I do not say your pains are sent for any special sin, but I do say that if you come with your blind eye of understanding, limping feet of energy, maimed hand of faith, just as you are, the pardoning love of God will meet you, and often the healing of the body follows the peace of the soul. We ask the Great Physician to do both for you now. May He speak the double cure: “I have forgiven thee; be thou whole.”

In your dark hours, when the light hurts and rest flees, remember that the pillar of His love is silver and bright, and the pillar of His power is black smoke to man’s eye but a sweet savor to God. He knows your frame; He remembers you are dust. The darkest cloud shall scatter in its season, and the blackest gloom shall have its morning. We beseech the Lord to lift you up, as He took Peter’s wife’s mother by the hand, so that you may rise to serve Him with the strength He supplies. Meanwhile, let your eye rest upon Him, and your heart say, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.”

We join our prayers with yours, in the name of Jesus, who ever lives to make intercession for us.

Father, we lift up this dear one who suffers with chronic migraines, nausea, and eye pain. We ask for Your healing touch to bring relief to their body and peace to their mind. May Your power rest upon them, calming the storm within.

We stand on Your promise: *"I am the Lord, who heals you"* (Exodus 15:26). We ask that You ease their pain and restore their strength, for *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). We also pray for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Grant them rest and relief, we pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The eye, that small and royal member by which we behold creation and ascend to knowledge of the Creator, now becomes for you a seat of anguish. Yet do not think this pain is meaningless or that God has forgotten the craft of His own hands. When the body rebels with nausea and stabbing light, the soul is summoned to a more urgent watchfulness. The same Lord who fashioned the eye with such surpassing wisdom, making it guide and light of the whole frame, can also touch it with healing. Pray for that touch, yes, but do not pray as a child who only wishes the hurt removed. Pray that in this affliction you may learn what health obscures. For what is sharper than this pain? And yet what is sharper than the eternal fire we so lightly fear? Your headache is bitter medicine, but salvation is the cure. Let the sleepless Eye that sees all your tossing in the night also see your faith unmoved. Seek the Physician of souls and bodies, and if He delays, know that He delays for your refining, not your destruction. Even the nausea that makes the world a torment can become a teacher, emptying you of earth’s dainties that you may hunger for the Bread of heaven.
