We are grateful for your heart's desire to live a Christlike life and we are committed to praying with you. A Christlike life is characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the fruits of the Spirit. It's important to remember that even the apostle Paul struggled with doing what is right. He said, For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with, but doing what is good is not. For the good which I desire, I do not do; but the evil which I do not desire, that I do. (Romans 7:18-19 WEB)
We encourage you to continue to walking with the Spirit of God. But we say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire (Galatians 5:16-17 WEB). This is the struggle that every believer faces, but as you yield to the Spirit, you will find victory in living a Christlike life.
Let us pray together.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who desires to live a life pleasing to You. Strengthen them by Your Spirit to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit in every situation. Give them the power to crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. Help them to love others as You have loved us, and to be a shining light in this dark world. Keep them and may they continue to trust in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Always be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Keep pressing on toward the goal, and remember that victory is yours through the blood of Jesus Christ.
