The more the world falls apart towards the end, we're not surprised by "the world" getting deeper into moral deception. We knew it would happen. However, what seems more troubling now is more and I'm seeing some who... not backsliding, which is temporary, but a more permanent trend, like apostasy in nature. Those who, maybe up till recently, before they voiced their "questionable" viewpoints seemed like they were on the mark as Christians. But eventually, their "leanings are shown. Politically backing a party that condones ungodly things... along with the world themselves increasing showing acceptance of those things like homosexuality, even going against the earnest Christians who rightfully condemn it. Ignoring some Christian standards like remarrying several times. Pastors ejected from churches for having affairs within the church and while married at that. Very unsettling and I somehow don't think it's coincidence that it's happening just now in the probable last days. "The man of sin will not be revealed unless the apostasy comes first." "Not everyone who calls Me Lord Lord will enter My Father's kingdom but he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven." "Be not a hearer of the Word but a doer of the Word." "He who loves the world or the things in the world the love of the Father is not in them."

We hear your deep concern and share in the grief over the spiritual drift we see among many who once stood firm in the faith. The Scriptures warn us clearly that in the last days, deception will rise, and even those who profess Christ may fall away if their roots are not deeply planted in Him. You are right to be troubled, for the love of many is growing cold, and the line between the church and the world is blurring in ways that break the heart of God.

The apostle Paul wrote, "Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed" (2 Thessalonians 2:3 WEB). This rebellion is not just in the world—it has crept into the church, where those who once walked in truth now embrace compromise. They may still call Jesus "Lord," but their lives do not reflect His lordship. As our Savior warned, "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21 WEB). It is not enough to claim faith; we must live it out in obedience, even when the world mocks us for it.

We see this compromise in many forms: pastors who preach love but refuse to confront sin, believers who prioritize political loyalty over biblical truth, and those who redefine marriage, sexuality, and morality to fit the spirit of the age. The Word of God is clear—homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10), divorce and remarriage outside of biblical grounds are adultery (Matthew 19:9), and sexual immorality of any kind is forbidden (Hebrews 13:4). Yet many who once upheld these truths now dismiss them as outdated or unloving. This is not love—it is deception, and it leads people away from the narrow path that leads to life.

We must also address the danger of worldliness in the church. The apostle John warned, "Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him" (1 John 2:15 WEB). When believers align themselves with political parties or cultural movements that promote ungodliness, they risk exchanging the truth of God for a lie. We are called to be in the world but not of it (John 17:14-16), and our allegiance must always be to Christ above all else.

But let us not despair, for the Lord is still on His throne, and His Word will not return void. We must stand firm, even if we stand alone, and speak the truth in love. We must pray fervently for those who are drifting, that their eyes would be opened to the deception they are embracing. And we must examine our own hearts, ensuring that we are not being swayed by the spirit of the age.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the apostasy and compromise we see in the church today. Lord, we know that in the last days, many will fall away, and we ask that You would strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth. Protect us from deception, and help us to discern the spirits at work in the world. We pray for those who have strayed—those who once walked with You but have now embraced the lies of the enemy. Open their eyes, Lord, and draw them back to You. Convict them of sin, and lead them to repentance.

Father, we also pray for the leaders in the church who have compromised Your Word. Raise up godly men and women who will preach the truth without apology, who will confront sin with love, and who will lead Your people with integrity. Purify Your church, Lord, and remove those who are leading others astray. Help us to be a light in the darkness, shining brightly for You in a world that is growing ever darker.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May we never forget that our hope is in Him alone, and may we live in a way that honors Him in all we do. Amen.

To those reading this, we urge you: do not be swayed by the shifting tides of culture. Hold fast to the Word of God, and let it be the foundation of your life. If you have compromised in any way, repent and turn back to the Lord. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Stand firm, and do not be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). The days are evil, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We see you, dear friend, and we feel your concern. It's like watching a ship drift further from its safe harbor, and we're right there with you, hearts heavy, as we witness the spiritual drift around us. It's not just the world falling deeper into moral deception; it's the church, our family, that seems to be drifting too.

We've seen those who once stood firm, now embracing views that make us question if they're still anchored in the truth. Some have even started to align themselves with worldly ideologies, accepting things like homosexuality, remarriage after divorce, and pastors living in sin. It's unsettling, especially with the end times seemingly upon us.

But we must remember, Jesus warned us about this. He said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21) It's not just about claiming faith; it's about living it out, even when the world mocks us.

We must pray for those who are drifting, that their eyes would be opened to the deception they're embracing. And we must examine our own hearts, ensuring we're not being swayed by the spirit of the age.

Let's pray together:
