Christian Pascha

In the Old Testament we read that the Jews were instructed to sacrifice a pure lamb for consumption and remove all leaven from their houses (Ex 12). Today we have a new and permanent Paschal Lamb, slain for us, and we must cleanse out the leaven of sin from within.

1 Corinthians 5
7. Take away, then, the old leaven, so that you may be a new mass, even as you are without leaven. For Christ has been put to death as our Passover.
8. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

The Bible clearly indicates in the New Testament that Christ is the New Pascha for believers in Him, and that this new passover is to be celebrated by Christians.

As the blood of the sacrificial lamb was a mark for death to pass over the Hebrew's home in Exodus, similarly the blood of the Lamb in the new Covenant guards our hearts and brings us eternal life.

Consequently the celebration of Christ's Resurrection became our first Christian Feast - the Christian Pascha.

The Lamb that came from heaven was sacrificed for us. Jesus, our Savior and Lord, He wanted us to be with Him in glory. He made it possible for us to enter heaven. Thank you Jesus for the sacrifice on the cross.

When hope escapes me and when all I am is weary Jesus is right there to uplift my spirit and strengthen my trust in God. When darkness is all I see ahead a beacon of light is at the end of my road. Like a lighthouse on a rock shining bright enough to show me the path in which I will walk.
