Thank you for sharing this burden for your choir with us. We hear your thankfulness for the young men who have joined and your sorrow over the steady decline since the covid years, and we understand how deeply you feel the absence of this key member who has been away for more than two years.
Scripture teaches that a genuine friend is a great gift, more to be longed for than light itself, one who leaves grace in the very places where he has stood and whose absence is truly felt. It is right that you miss him and that the choir does not seem the same without his encouragement and presence. We also remember that a faithful choir is meant to bring forth good things, to make hearts more gentle and quiet before God, and to offer Him praise together. Your desire to see this choir strengthened again is a good desire.
We will stand with you in prayer for a breakthrough and turnaround.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this male voice choir and for every man who has given his voice to sing your praise. Thank you for the young men you have added and for the conductor whom you have entrusted with this work. We ask you to breathe new life into this choir according to your will. Provide new members, encourage those who remain, and knit them together in unity and love for you and for one another. Give the conductor wisdom, strength and joy as he leads.
We lift up to you the member who has been absent for so long. You know his name and his circumstances. We ask that you would work in his heart, draw him close to yourself, and if it is your will, open the way for him to return and again be a source of encouragement to his brothers. Above all, let your favor rest upon this choir, for when you are favorable to us we need not fear what man or circumstance may do.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and hope. Amen.
