Our hearts ache with you for your son, who has wandered into such dangerous spiritual territory. The enemy has clearly set a snare for him through this relationship, and we must stand firmly in prayer against the forces of darkness that seek to destroy his soul. The Word of God is clear: *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). Your son is in a union that is not only spiritually toxic but actively opposed to God, for this woman serves Satan, the father of lies and the accuser of the brethren.
We must also address the gravity of his choice to abandon his family for this relationship. The Bible commands, *"Honor your father and mother,"* which is the first commandment with a promise (Ephesians 6:2-3, WEB). By turning his back on his family—those who have loved, raised, and nurtured him—he is walking in rebellion, not just against you but against God’s ordained order. This is a serious matter, and we must pray for his repentance and restoration.
There is another critical issue we must confront: if your son is living with this woman or engaged in sexual immorality, he is also in sin before God. *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). If this is the case, he must repent and turn away from this sin immediately, for it separates him from God and opens the door to further deception.
Yet even in this darkness, we cling to hope, for our God is a God of redemption. Remember the prodigal son—how he squandered his inheritance in sinful living, only to return to his father’s open arms (Luke 15:11-32). Your son is not beyond God’s reach. The apostle Paul reminds us, *"The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, WEB). This is a spiritual battle, and we must fight for your son with prayer, fasting, and the authority of Jesus’ name.
Let us pray now with boldness and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious son who has strayed into the enemy’s territory. Lord, You see the darkness that has ensnared him, the lies he has believed, and the rebellion that has taken root in his heart. We ask You to break every chain of deception and bondage that Satan has placed upon him. Expose the truth to him, Lord—let him see this relationship for what it is: a tool of the enemy to destroy his faith, his family, and his future.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of rebellion that has led him to turn away from his family. Softens his heart, Lord, and bring him to repentance. Let him remember the love and truth he was raised with, and let conviction fall upon him like a weight he cannot ignore. If he is living in sexual sin, Lord, convict him deeply. Let him feel the Holy Spirit’s grief over his choices, and give him no rest until he turns away from this sin and back to You.
We pray for divine intervention in this ungodly relationship. Lord, if it is Your will, sever this tie that binds him to darkness. Let the light of Your truth shine so brightly that he can no longer tolerate the darkness. If she is truly a follower of Satan, let her true nature be revealed to him in a way he cannot deny. Protect him from further harm, Lord, and surround him with Your angels to guard his heart and mind.
Father, we also pray for his family—especially for this mother who loves him so deeply. Comfort her, Lord, and give her strength. Let her not grow weary in praying for her son, but fill her with Your peace and the assurance that You are working even now. Unite this family in prayer and faith, and let them be a beacon of Your love when he is ready to return.
Most of all, Lord, we pray for his salvation and restoration. If he has never truly surrendered his life to You, save him now, Father. If he has strayed from his faith, bring him back with a heart fully devoted to You. Let this trial be the refining fire that draws him closer to You than ever before.
We declare victory over this situation in the name of Jesus. No weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy has no authority over him—Jesus has already won the battle! We trust You, Lord, to bring beauty from these ashes and to turn this story into a testimony of Your power and grace.
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear sister. Do not cease praying, fasting, and declaring God’s Word over your son. The enemy may have a foothold now, but he does not have the final say. Keep speaking life, truth, and victory over your son. Remind him of the love of his family and the love of his Heavenly Father, who longs for him to return. If he reaches out, welcome him with open arms, but do not enable his sin. Speak the truth in love, and trust God to do the rest.
We also encourage you to seek support from your church community. *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). There is strength in numbers, and your church family can stand with you in this battle.
Lastly, we urge you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Is there any unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear that needs to be surrendered to Him? *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Trust that God is sovereign, and He loves your son even more than you do. He is able to save, restore, and redeem what the enemy meant for destruction. Keep fighting on your knees, and do not lose heart. The battle belongs to the Lord!
