We join with you in lifting up little ### and your daughter before our Father in heaven, and we thank you for asking in Jesus' name, for it is through Him alone we have access to the throne of grace.
We see the tender love your daughter has for ###, and we know the Lord sees it too. He cares for all His creation, and He cares deeply for the brokenhearted. Scripture tells us, A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10, and also, You preserve man and animal, Yahweh Psalm 36:6. Our God is compassionate and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.
We pray together for ###, for your daughter, and for his brother.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus. We ask for Your mercy and gentleness upon little ### in his passing. Lord, if it is Your will to take him, we ask that You let him go peacefully and without suffering, cradled in Your sovereign care. We ask that You comfort his brother who remains, keep him in health and peace, and ease any distress he may feel. Above all, Father, we lift up this dear daughter to You. Comfort her heart as only You can, surround her with Your peace that passes all understanding, and remind her that You are near to those who are hurting. Let her feel Your love and presence in this time of sorrow, and turn her grief into a deeper trust in Your goodness. We thank You that You bottle our tears and that You care for every sparrow, how much more for Your children. May this loss draw her closer to You, finding her ultimate comfort and hope in Christ. There is a true and tender grief in watching a little creature so dearly loved draw near to its passing, and the Lord who numbers the hairs of our heads and notes the fall of a sparrow does not despise the tears shed over such a loss.
We join our hearts with yours in prayer that the Lord in His mercy would grant ### a gentle passing, and that He who says, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, would draw near to comfort your daughter in this sorrow. May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who Himself comforts our hearts and establishes us, lay His hand upon her aching heart and give her that peculiar comfort which belongs to His own, This is my comfort in my affliction for Thy Word hath quickened me.
We pray also for the dear companion that remains, that the Lord who preserves man and beast would keep him and that your daughter may know the nearness of the Comforter in these days. When grief presses low, may she hear the Word of God speaking within, not merely as letter but as Spirit quickening the soul, so that she may say even in affliction, This is my comfort, and find her heart stayed upon Him who will not suffer His people to be tried above what they are able, but will with the trial make a way to bear it.
