We are delighted to join you in prayer, seeking God's will for your life alongside you. It is wonderful that you desire to turn away from your old ways and live a life that honors God. This is the core of repentance, which Jesus preached saying, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17 (WEB). Also remember, "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB).
As you carry your cross daily, remember Jesus' words, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23 (WEB). This is a commitment to follow Jesus no matter the cost, and it's wonderful that you're dedicated to this.
Concerning your studies, we pray that God would grant you and your brother wisdom, understanding, and perseverance. Remember, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." James 1:5 (WEB). Also, "Study to show yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." 2 Timothy 2:15 (WEB).
However, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus in your request. It is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, but also by no other name are we saved. This is the most important issue for us to discuss. This is Jesus who was the word since the beginning. Jesus spoke to Moses at the burning bush when He referred to himself as "I AM". Jesus is God who put on human flesh to save us from our sins. We can only be saved by putting our faith in Jesus. This is why we pray in Jesus' name.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your help to turn away from sinful habits and live a life that honors you. Grant the grace to carry the cross daily and follow Jesus wholeheartedly. We also ask for your guidance and wisdom in studies, not just for this individual but also for their brother. Help them to persevere and successfully complete their studies. We pray for nothing less than total transformation in the name of Jesus. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 (WEB).
